[tsn] McKenzie: "Rangers want to get better in a hurry,"
Long live the King replied to Phil's topic in New York Rangers
Becoming Edmonton or Buffalo is what you're proposing. Keep sucking and keep drafting. Dont sign Panarin or Karlsson while we have the chance. Wait until Kakko is making 12 mil a year and then sign Lucic, Skinner, or Okposo. Sent from my [device_name] using http://Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk -

Coyle and Granlund were 20 and never played a game before Parise and Suter signed. Neiderreiter was traded for a year later and at 21 had 3 points in 64 career games. I want to count on Karlsson, Panarin, and Zibanejad while all our first round picks learn from them. If Chytil, Kravtsov, and Kakko need big money deals coming off their ELC's it'll mean the Rangers are contending with 5 ppg players and a Norris finalist. If the kids dont get there the cap won't be an issue. They can bridge them. Sent from my [device_name] using http://Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk -

Minn was up and coming? Kakao, Kravtsov, Chytil > Granlund, Niederreiter, Coyle. Their leading scorer every year had about 60 points. Praise in 7 years in NJ had 2 years over 70. Panarin has never been under 70. Meanwhile Zibanejad > Koivu. Has Suter not been good in Minn? 2nd, 4th, 9th, 8th, 5th, 13th in Norris voting every year he's been there. Adding a 2 time Norris trophy winner would be great for Hajek, Rykov, DeAngelo, Miller, Lundkvist, and Reunanen. Because Georgiev has been in the NHL for 2 years and Knight will be the backup for Boston College next year? -

Yea I don't know about top 10, but since they're picking already picking 7th maybe Buffalo would be willing to part with San Jose's first rounder... -

Be interesting to see how he looks at the U18's playing alongside all the CHL'ers. Ballsy prediction for 2020, he's gonna have a better freshman year at BC than Wahlstrom did... -

If we can land Newhook with the Winnipeg pick, even if we have to trade up a few spots like we did for Miller, we'll be set. -

Rangers Draft [D] Nils Lundkvist in 1st Rd. (28th) Pick

Is that incredibly specific? Teenage D-men rarely play, let alone produce, in Europe. -

They wouldn't be mortgaging the future. MacKinnon (23), McDavid (22), Rantanen (22) are the present and future. They'd be the Crosby/Malkin of the next decade. Or you talking about the Rangers? -

Colorado could make a pretty good offer, and has the cap space. #1 OA this year, ~#17 OA this year, 2019 1st rounder, a young roster player (Kefoot, Compher, or Jost), Kuat, and maybe another prospect. -
How is Georgiev all of a sudden untouchable? He's sporting a .914 sv% through 41 career games. Talbot had a .931 sv% through 57 games as a Ranger. Tablot had much better AHL numbers as well. Shestyorkin should absolutely be the priority. In 2015 Shesty was the Russian goalie at the WJC. 5 games 1.98 GAA .938 SV%. The following year it was Georgiev. 5 games 2.52 GAA .898 SV%. In 2016 and 2017 Shesty was Russia's backup at the Worlds. In 2018 Shesty played 4 games at the Worlds with a 1.46 GAA and .942 SV%. Russia has not called Georgiev back.

his contract is up after this year. if he's signs another deal there it will likely be for multiple years.

SKA hasn't had a full time starter since Shesty cam on the scene 3 years ago. They tend not to play young players that are going to leave for the NHL. They buried Rykov in the minors before trading him ti Sochi where he played his way on to the top pair as they moved into a playoff spot.
