  2. Kreider's value is highest at the draft, before free agency even starts. Sent from my [device_name] using http://Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  3. I would trade Kreider either way. That's not what I meant. Talking strictly about bringing in UFA's. Sent from my [device_name] using http://Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  4. Explain how Panarin and Shattenkirk are at all the same. Sent from my [device_name] using http://Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  5. Come on man. Sign a guy to an extension and trade him six months later because cap? No way. Sent from my [device_name] using http://Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  6. There is no plan B. The point is to sign an elite player, not just the best UFA. If the elite player signs elsewhere then stand pat. Sent from my [device_name] using http://Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  7. We know Panarin is a point per game player. How many Skille's and Barker's did the Hawks draft before finding Toews and Kane? How many top 5 picks did the Oilers have before drafting McDavid and Draisaitl? The draft will always be a question mark. If you have Paranin and Zibanejad scoring a point per game, drafting RNH (Andersson) high in the first round helps your team instead of hoping for that guy to turn into the answer.. 8. If they traded Paranin to help with cap, why did they not A) Take back less cap, or B) make an even cap trade for a player that's scored more than 53 points. "Hey, Saad is overpaid, but at least he's locked in at that price for an extra 2 years." I don't buy that. The move was to make Toews happy.
  9. Panarin and Saad both make $6M per year, so no that trade had nothing to do with cap. Toews wanted Saad back. Not sure how Chicago proves your point. They sucked for a decade. Picked in the top 10 seven times. Got lucky to have the #1 OA pick in Kane's year (he has 300 more points than anyone else in that draft). They won 3 cups and were buyers at the deadline. They paid their guys and it left them with no farm system.
  10. right, right. Tampa will trade Point before Callahan, Miller, Johnson, Palat, and Killorn. Now I get it.
  11. Point is a good player, but 20 of his goals and 35 of his points have come on the power play. The number one power play unit in the league where he is surrounded by Kucherov, Stamkos, and Hedman. That production won't translate to the Rangers. Would I trade for Point, sure. Would I trade 4 first rounders, no.
  12. He's 9th in the league in points (12th in ppg) since he came to the NHL. 7 of the top 9 are wings. If you wait for a player better, and the same age or younger, to get to free agency you'll be waiting forever.
  13. Except the UFA's they are looking to sign are under 30, they'll have made 7 to 9 first round picks in the last 3 years, and traded for a number of prospects who are already contributing... Signing Panarin and Karlsson doesn't change the fact they've acquire a shit load of assets over the last 3 years.
  14. I think people put too much emphasis on line numbers. Its not that important. You can easily start a game with: Vesey - Zib - Kravtsov Panarin - Chytil - Buch Lemuiex - Howden - Names You can 'insulate' kids with how you deploy them. Kotkaniemi plays 14 minutes a night and gets 63% OZ starts. You can easily give that to Chytil or Kravtsov in the above lineup. Look at Dubois' deployment with Panarin on his wing. Need a goal late in the third? You can easily put Panarin and Zib together. Protecting a lead? You can easily drop Chytil and Kravtsov down and move Names and Fast up. And that's just next season. The year after, everyone's better.
  15. Zib is 1. Howden is 3. For two there is multiple scenarios. A) They moved Chytil back to center last night. We'll see how he looks in camp going into his sophomore year. B) They can draft a center in the top 5 that makes the team a la Kotkaniemi. C) Worse comes to worst both Strome or Names can center the #2 line and I'd prefer either of them to signing Dzingel. 16. Classic, always the victim. Oh, and stop comparing Shattenkirk and Richards to Karlsson and Panarin. It's not even close. Sent from my [device_name] using http://Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  17. Is it? Building around players under 30 and having 8 1st rounders in 3 years? All those young players will be RFAs. They wont all sign big long term deals. If they're all happen to be that good that's a great problem to have. There's not a great precedent for guys holding out. Drouin? Nylander?...Tampa and Toronto seem fine. 18. Panarin, Karlsson, and Zib would be the core. Under 30 years old. Supported by 7 or 8 1st round picks over a three year span. Plus Hajek, Rykov, Howden, Lemieux, and the other young pieces added over the last couple years. Sent from my [device_name] using http://Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  19. Look at Bob's #'s, when he won the Vezina, in 16-17. How's Chicago since Panarin left? Sent from my [device_name] using http://Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  20. Zib and Skjei are also the only players signed for more than the next two years. Sign Panarin and Karlsson for $22 million, plus Skjei and Zib is about $33 million. That gives you $50 million plus to deal with all your RFAs. Kravtsov, Rykov, Shesty, Miller, Lundkvist, and any 2019 picks will still be on their ELC. 21. Applies to every player in a contact sport... As evidenced by his #'s this season, Karlsson's foot is fine. He's out with a groin injury.
  22. Or the eventual cup winner stopped dicking around with Grubauer, put their Vezina winning goalie back in, and decided they weren't going to let one guy beat them.
