Linemates staying motionless is one of the biggest reasons I think guys get tossed out of faceoffs. I also think it's one of the "rules" that gets overlooked the most. We see guys jostling for position all the time on draws.

One question I have, which is sort of related: (I haven't heard this in a while, so maybe I'm making it up, but...) I used to hear commentators talk about intentionally getting kicked out of the draw. Why would someone want to get intentionally kicked from the draw? (Or am I making that shit up?)

cause linesmen are trigger happy to throw someone out, so the team would put a winger to get tossed.  Linesmen would almost never toss two players from the same team.  i've only seen it done twice

  2. 5. Why can't they make goalie gloves smaller?

    6. Why can't the NYR win the cup?

    7. Why is Colton Orr a NYR alumni when he only played for the Rangers 3 seasons but 6 seasons for Toronto?  Del Zotto played 4.5 seasons with NYR and 8.5 seasons with other teams?

    8. Why men pee standing up?  It is a lot more safer to pee sitting down

Is it going to kill you to see his number hanging from the rafters as long as the Garden stands? Top 5 NY Ranger all time.

were the rangers really that bad in their 100 year history that fucking Kreider is our top 5 player of all time?   and yes, it would suck to see his number retired cause IMO he does not deserve such honor.  He's been an average NHLer who got lucky that players like Panarin and Fox ended up on his PP.   My view would of course change if he won the cup with the rangers.

And if my aunt had balls, she’d be my uncle. Lol.

Bottom line is we have that game breaking talent. And it’s not only him.

I’m just saying, you are ragging on the piles and Lou but we had Panarin and Fox basically fall into our lap. Doesn’t take a genius to sign those too. Try building a team when no one wants to play for you

I don’t understand the Islanders. My theory on being too attached to a roster is that the Rangers handled things right with their elite teams in the mid-2010s. You had teams that won divisions, a Presidents Trophy, an Eastern Conference Title. And when things began to tail off, management understood this notion: if we couldn’t win with this little engine that could when they were all at their best (Henrik included), are we going to win with them getting older? The answer was a resounding no.

They dealt Brassard, a staple, at the right time. Stepan. They cut ties with people like Girardi. This was all before the Letter. They knew it was time for new blood.

Lou, for whatever reason, is living off of 2020 and 2021. They got close. They were good. They were tough to play against. It was never a team built on talent, but instead it was the depth and the grit. But it’s a hard brand to sustain across many seasons and these guys are mostly older and still there. And in that time, aside for grabbing Horvat, no major moves have been made to compete with the big boys in today’s NHL. They just don’t have enough talent. Barzal is good, but is he the play driver on a Cup Winner? I see him more as a secondary guy. Same for Horvat.

If this ends the way I think we can all agree it likely is going to end, it’s time to nuke that core and just start over. They had their chance. They, like the mid-2010s Rangers, had a few good kicks at the can. But it’s time for new blood in there.

If Panarin wanted to sign in Detroit and not the rangers, we’d be in exactly same place, if not worse. Lets not forget who carried this team this year to where it is.
