Dan O'Rourke / Francois St. Laurent are the refs tonight
The Canes went 9-0-1 this season under tonight’s refs, combined; the Rangers were 6-1-0.
Carolina is undefeated over the past two seasons under referee Francois St. Laurent (10-0-1, including playoff games). The Rangers aren’t far behind, going 9-1-1 over the past three seasons when St. Laurent is officiating.
as long as penalties are called evenly in rangers favor...

if the refs are going to swallow the whistle like they did last game, rangers probably have no chance.

Kreider is the Rangers leader on the ice when the playoffs start. He's been that way for 3 years now.
I think he's the most suitable Captain candidate when Trouba is gone.
Notice who is always standing by the gate as the Rangers exit the ice after a game.
Ck has been with the Rangers for 12 years. If they wanted to make him a captain, he would’ve been by now.
And i think he leaves the ice last because he’s been here the longest. -

Kreider for a couple of seasons and then Laf.
Kreider would be a terrible captain. He half asses on the ice. Plus, if he was captain material he would’ve been made captain long time ago.

Im sure he’s a good leader, just not by example

Get rid of Trouba and give Laf the “C”

I’d rather not see Brodz ever again. If Chytil cant go, i’d rather see Rempe and his 5-6 minutes of icetime. This kid could be Moshiach for the Rangers who could bring us to the promised land. You dont have to play him, but when he’s dressed he brings us glory.

Anyone see this rumor floating around?
apparently a new Saudi backed hockey league is in the works in North America.
rumor is 3 on 3.
women and men
24 minute games
i wish I had links but everything is second hand rumors- but I’ve seen it in multiple places
seems unlikely but wondering if anyone saw anything on this
Not surprised. Saudis are buying up everything. Golf, Rinaldo, tennis. Stanley cup will be in Rihyad soon.

So yet again you don't have a specific answer.
By what specific metric did the hurricanes dominate the first period? And what does that have to do with the rest of the game?
You're telling me to learn hockey, you think a fourth line scrub is the reason we lost the one goal game. Please, teach me about hockey. Put your knowledge on display for all of us to learn.
And then when you're done, you can let us know if you are Rempe Dad, or his Agent.
U dont think the rangers were dominated in the first period?

It’s time for Miller to replace him on PP2, well past time.Im not even sure what PP2 is supposed to do out there

Its all good. A lesson that our team cant go 16-0 in playoffs. Canes got lucky with the late PP. i had all the confidence that the rangers would’ve taken it if the game went to OT.

Trouba is a $8mil a year disaster. We knew this for years now. But once the refs stop calling penalties the rangers are in trouble.

Happy to be a part of the train
Don't forget Kreider and what he does to you and @Albatrosss and pretty much everybody on this board on a near game by game basis, except me and @Phil
What Kreider does to me is none of your business, but what I do to @Pete should be outlawed.

We all love Valley, but I’m sorry I find this incredibly unlikely to be accurate based on what I’ve seen to this point.
CSA ES
11.21 to 5.27 xGF in favor of Canes
23 to 12 HDCF, Canes
NST ES
8.45 to 6.97 xGF, Canes33-30 HDCF, Canes
Valley went on and blasted ESPN and all of the non-ESPN statistical analysts who contributed to the article with their data models, and they all said the same thing that the Rangers were average to below average at 5v5 expected goals while Valley said the Rangers were 9th at CSA.
Now NST is saying it’s pretty damn close, which is what I’ve seen watching these games, and CSA is saying the Rangers are getting walked on the ice and this is basically just Shesterkin stealing games.
Again, love Valley but I have serious doubts about the accuracy of CSA at this juncture.
Few months ago after watching a game where the rangers were dominated most of the game, I was told by some “experts” on here that the analytics showed that the rangers were even in chances for/against and all that BS against their oppositing team that night. From that point on i stopped watching the games and just follow the analytics.
