Not True. Game 4, the 34th dominated (scoring/chances/hits). Game 5, not as much, but they clearly were hitting, shooting and blocking shots. None were more than a -1. It's not the 34th Division, or Laffy.
Game 6 the 34th will dominate again, and all our other leaders will follow !
They need to score. Hitting, shooting, blocking shots is not enough. They need to chip in here or there

It's hard for me to understand how professional athletes, in the playoffs, making millions of dollars like these guys, aren't out there giving their all every night.
cause they dont get paid during playoffs?

Panarin was finishing his checks until maybe 3 games ago. He was making a real effort to get back on defense. That's one of the big reasons the Rangers were so all around effective over the first 6 games. While he was doing that, which I will call leading by example, Lafreniere was the most noticeable player on the ice and Trocheck was tearing the roof off the stadium.
Since Panarin vanished his linemates have also become less noticeable as they have become less effective.
Panarin was finishing checks? I must've watched the rangers in a parallel universe

They take what's given to them. It's been my number one gripe with this roster construction for years. It's why I spent half the year talking about acquiring "bulls."
The good news is, globetrotter-y as they are, they've shown a real propensity for being comeback kids this year, so there's reason to keep the faith.
Half the year? Half your lifetime more likely

They were both hitting people in the Caps series and the start of this one.
one reverse hit by panarin doesnt really qualify as playing physical. Pan and Zib are some of the softest players on this team. Even Fox is more physical

what is up with russians and coke? is there a russian sports agent giving out coke once they land?

Since when have Zibanejad, Kreider and Panarin needed to be out of gas to be in no contact mode?
It's the playoffs. Those guys are either in it to win it or they're putting a tremendous load on everybody else.
you're asking for contact mode from Panarin and Zib?

I like this Phil. My only angst is with the second options third line. I think, like the prior game w Chytle in, the third line has an identity crisis. What is that line is it now a scoring line or a checking line?
Maybe it can be both but it didn't seem to my eye to work out the other night w Chytle in.
Just my observation on it.
third line has to be Cuylle-Chytil-Kakko. No other option. Wennberg should not be anywhere close to offensive players.

They're not out of gas. Half the top 6 is playing gentle non-contact hockey again and there is no way those guys can do that and beat the 'Canes.
maybe because they're out of gas?

what if the rangers ran out of gas like they did after game 2 vs the devils last year? What if they just dont have it in them?
on paper this team is worse personnel wise than last year's. The only real change is the coaching staff.

The book is out on Panarin. Stay close to him and he will cough up the puck or make some egregious pass. Scare him a little and he runs

When Panarin is getting cold you need 3rd and 4th lines to step up for a game or two. They havent. they suck ass

when is it time to blame the coach?

Ok...i feel a bit better now...cause i just realized that even if we squeek this one out we're probably getting crushed by the panthers
Panarin will stay home against the panthers. He’s not even going to drive to the rink.
