not a big Tortorella fan...think he stifles creativity a bit...but im pretty confident kane woulda been glued to the bench by end of game 3 if he were coaching
-
What has me most curious is what kinda pressure gallant might feel, psychologically or explicitly from higher up, to not significantly demote or altogether scratch kane.
I could understand giving him a shot through game 4, at most. But by then it was certainly obvious to even the most ignorant fan that he's a serious handicap. And leaving him on pp1, no less, when u have a guy like tarasenko waiting in the wings? Thats just pathetic and gutless.

This is a man that is out of ideas.
Yea...he's basically saying: 'what you've seen is all i got'
so if it ends here the guy should basically volunteer himself a taxi...

If gallant cant get this team to show up for game 6, he needs to be retroactively fired from like the beginning if the season...on the books at least
-
I seriously would bench kane for the rest of the game. Not even exaggerating

Looks like kane finally out of the top 6? Took way to f'n long for that. You can already see the difference.

Im a devils fan now.
Boy u guys really suck.

i think once you get to pp2, chances of success are so slim that it doesn't matter who you have on it.
better off stacking pp1 with everyone who gives you the best chance - and kane is definitely not it - tarasenko should replace him.

Zibanejad needs a winger that can help him with puck possession, Kreider and Kane are invisible and basically useless 5v5. Mika has to do all the heavy lifting himself. Re-gain the puck, carry the puck in to the zone and finish the attack. He gets no help.
Try something new:
Kreider/Panarin - Zibanejad - Kakko
Panarin/Kreider - Trocheck - Tarasenko
Lafreniere - Chytil - Kane
kane looks like a really good 4th liner to me, right now. gd knows how they can turn a blind eye and keep him on pp1, when Tarasenko is the clear cut better player, by alot.
i think vesey might even be the better player...

don't be surprised if we see some powerhouse performance...looking like stanley cup contenders, again...they've done that after looking horrible throughout parts of the last 2 seasons

Hughes proving to have the balls and wrench twice the size our entire all-star team. Go fucking figure.
But yeah he's small, if only half our stars played consistently with that much heart and passion forget about talent.
Egg two laid fucking perfectly, we nailed it, couldn't of done better. Bravo bitches, makes me want to puke.
i've felt my heart in my throught when hughes has the puck with just a bit of time and space...legit superstar...kakko is not even in the same league right now

wish we would've given kris Knoblauch a shot...

I think you may be over-generous. This looks to be going 6 with the Rangers being swept out over the next two. Have you seen anything in the last two to make you think this can go 7 let alone come out with the Rangers winning it?
we looked at least as hopeless, if not more, during the first two series of last years playoffs

Kane is an extra part. If Zib and Panarin aren't going to show up, Kane doesn't even matter.
no - because as bad as he looks, he's actually a detriment. you can't just stick a slow, low energy player in the top 6 and not expect it to negatively impact the line as a whole
-
somebody needs to take accountability for the kane disaster...drury for going all in for him, or gallant for not having the balls to sitck him in the bottom 6 and on pp2...
-
This is the same kind of shit performance these last 2 games that we saw last playoffs...gg is a joke

Ruff has been a loser coach his whole career. Any possibly being he was a NYR Asst Coach he’s got a better feel to play against? “Insider trading” if you will?
Ruff coached one of the most dominant teams i can remember seeing back in buffalo...and that was with the likes of drury, briere etc...great players at the time but not exactly superstars

He’s a coach, not a hypeman. They should be able to get energized for a PO game on their own lol.
I doubt any nhl player ever doesnt get up for a po game...particularly in your own home at msg.
What happens imo, is that in a high pressure environment, you need to be able to rely on an effective instinctual system/structure instead of creative decision making that falters under that pressure. and as we all know...gg is kind of a dope when it comes to that

He’s got to do something about the power play. 0-8 and counting looking worse with every opportunity. That’s on him
And its been painfully obvious that kaner is a detriment...yea, hes had his 2 points throwing it at kreider in game 2, but mire often then not hes a chemistry killer

The gameplan has been perfect again. Expect for a bad breakaway early on we’ve neutralized their speed and attack as usual. That the players refuse to work for their chances and put pucks on the net is not on the coach.
Gallant’s only mistake is not benching Lafreniere yet, or atleast taken him off the PP unit.
I dunno how you can not put a shit sluggish energy throughout the entire team on the coach

If kane is on this pp1...gallant is a fn hack

So who is going to be the star tonight?
Line 1 has been quiet except on the powerplay. Line 2 is working it and making some things happen. Line 3 is grinding hard. Line 4 is smarter than the entire Devils roster.
Who is going to break out tonight?
My money is on Chytil and Laffy getting on the board early.
my money is on kaner blowing up again

Old man Kane looks like a steaming pile out there. He let himself get out of shape and he’s struggling to keep up
Better off with vesey up there
Trading Panarin?
in New York Rangers

panarin would be fine...if he weren't eating 11.6m of cap space.
8-9m max is what he's actually worth
