hard to argue that even vesey wouldnt be a significant upgrade over wheeler.
looks like the boys are gonna have to bail out shesty in this one for a change

4th line lookin like star players on that one. kakko still dragging ass
-
if goodrow can't step into the third line center role as a good backup asset...why the hell is he on this roster?
-
we look pretty good...for regular season hockey.
the question is if we'll have that next level of intensity and style of play needed for playoff success.

As happy as I am for his coming out season, I get this sneaking suspicion he's doing it out of spite following a disappointing contract year. Whatever works, but I worry he will bounce for Montreal or another team asap.
well if he plays the season out at this level, the rangers will have to consider a long-term extension going into next season. if the dollars are right he'd be taking a big risk not signing.
-
well what if you let Kakko go...and goodrow...
Gus is more than worth the price of both those two at this point...and some

I think the pairing with Panarin is a pretty significant factor.
That doesn't mean he hasn't earned his production - the guy is a serious talent and Panarin just helps bring it to the surface.
And it could be a stepping stone...the guy gets more confident and maybe eventually carries a line on his own.
-
Yea...we've been here before with zib...and he always ends up catching fire at some point. Lets see who has the balls to trash him when he goes on the inevitable heater again.

I hear you guys loud and clear, and I know he's not even showing very many signs of life, but I still think we gotta give the guy more than just a few weeks of being here.
I know, I'm fucking crazy, but I just feel like he's been such a good leader, and solid citizen in the NHL for such a long time, that something's gotta be in there that can help us. I dunno, I just have a really hard time believing this guy went to a complete zero over the summer.
I still gotta stick to at least Christmas as my "cut along the dotted line" for him.
as long as we're winning...no reason we can't be patient

Zib is the best center on the team. Which is why its so important to find a way to get that line going. Whether that means finding the right RW (still looking since Zucc, Buch...) Or if need be putting Panarin on his LW.
I just can't see how you can tolerate Zib not producing at a top 6 level at ES.

Give him at least two more next to Zib. That doesn't work, try him out on the 4th line. Then you can cut bait...

Almost certainly… slight possibility it’s not.
But that’s probably what it is.

Truly throwing darts here and with one of your worst darts to date. A guy some were talking about needing to be sat or worse, a guy that showed nothing even at his homecoming game. I'm not sure who it reflects worse on Kakko or Wheeler. Both have been junk to date.
IMO the kid line is one of the most overrated "lines" of all times outside of a Chytil 3 game playoff heater. who scored I believe it was 5 goals in 2 games, 7 in 20 - Bravo. Laugh and Kakko had total of 4 goals in 39 games in that years playoffs. Realistically they skate around cycling the puck at best with very little production, their possession numbers maybe great. Yay I guess, overall their production is not. Almost like the whole "Kid Line" is a myth if you look at what they have produced on the score board.
i mean...we'll see soon enough...wheeler could end up being a dud on line 1 too - and what would we be losing? how many more games should they stick it out with the k-z-k line lacking ES production?
and id be fine with a cuylle-tro-kakko line as well...

Man they need to find a top line RW, somehow. Taking guys who have been awful and don't deserve to be up there and rotating through them isn't a recipe for success imo, Vesey would of been a better choice because he has a pulse and can at least move at this stage but he would still just be a placeholder.
- Captain Obvious
Jdogg - tough line to deal with in what way?
Re Wheeler next to Krieder/Zib, you never know if some combination might just gel for whatever reason - and the whole ends up greater than the sum of its parts (like the previous success of the kid line...maybe this will lead to the success of the geezers?). And you can't get much lower production on the 1st and 3rd lines if your tried.
Cuyle-Chytil-Kakko: Those are 3 guys each with a pretty good combination of size, skating & skill. And we've seen Kakko at his best next to Chytil. Could basically duplicate the effectiveness of the former kid line.

Kakko moved off top line.
Good move IMO.
And if Tro clicks in with Panarin & Laf, you could have Chytil coming back to centering Culle & Kakko - could see that being a very tough line to deal with.

Im psyched for another Quicky...looks like the dude could return to dominant form this season...maybe even challenge Shesty a bit
-
lines 1 & 3 just haven't clicked very much till this point...its not about wheeler...those lines need to gel or eventually get tweeked
-
-
I've seen flashes from the K-Z-K line in the last two games...could see it clicking eventually...and if we're winning, it makes sense to be patient
-
maybe try flipping cuylle and kreider to get lines 1 & 3 goin?

Only watched the Highlights on Youtube and they confused the hell out of me, did teams switch sides during the periods or something? Cause they sure made it look like they did in those Highlights, teams switching the side they played on and the scoreboard would still show the same period.
Yea - the lighting on one side of the ice was bad

wait, so you can have a total phantom 'tripping' call that can't be overturned, i believe, but you can call a hit a 5 min major and review it to no penalty at all? r u f'n serious?
