Ide rather be competing every year for the next decade than selling the future for a marginally higher chance at advancing a bit further this season.
If this team wants it, and lavi isn't washed - theyll win with these guys.

0 points over the last 5 games
Might as well role with Wennberg in the top 6...

Or...Hear me out...He's having a down year because as reported, he's shooting from farther out than ever before.
You would have a point if everything was apples to apples and the goals weren't going in. But there is something new. His shot selection. And now teams gameplan against him because he's a star.
if hes shooting from farther out than before, that may be because he's 'lost a step' with regards to skating past and/or through people

Nice award...but the true test of his coaching performance will be how well they fair in the playoffs

People pay to see Hughes lose.
i'd pay extra to see him get Trouba Trained

I would not categorize yesterday as lucky or undeserved. The Islanders slipped up, and we made them pay. To me, that’s what good teams do. They capitalize on opportunities when given opportunities. Not every game is going to be a 60-minute masterpiece. And quite frankly, the Islanders needed that game way more than we did. So it wasn’t surprising to see them come out flying, for that reason and the fact that they get up for us. But I was impressed with how they stuck with, how they got back to their game after the time out and began to slowly but surely chip away on them as the game wore on. And that includes Igor too. I think they did what good teams do: they found a way to win.
Not 'lucky'
But not the kind of performance that inspires confidence in a deep playoff run

i guess we have the solution to our pp woes...pull the goalie

Perhaps zucc and buch were the true drivers of those lines past success...

if Drury is serious about going all in this season - Quick needs to be given the Reighns right now

How do u measure the cumulative impact of giving up picks over multiple years just for rentals...
Im not a big fan of the approach myself

How tough is it to read this 5 years later?
https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/prospect-interest-finnish-playmaker-kaapo-kakko/
I'd bet that if Kakko starts his career in the AHL...maybe even for a full season or two...we're looking at very different player right now.
Not saying any other team would've had the balls to do that given his "2OA NHL Ready" evaluation...
and yet if were evaluated as a mid to late 1rst rounder, that outcome would be normal...

Thank god for Vancouver. The rangers cannot be making short sighted deals with a broken core. This team needs a major change not an addition around the margins.
IMO 2 of Fox, zib, panarin, and kreider need to be sent packing. Don’t care which 2 but the country club needs to close for repairs. The rangers need core guys who will drag others into a fight. These guys are not it
I think thats probably an overreaction at this point, but Kreider-Zib would be the two...

Is Igor starting?
Igor and Quick should be splitting time at this point...and if quick wins...he takes over

if they don't make a major turnaround next month, it'd be irresponsible to bring on any rentals. gotta start thinking for the next few seasons already...

The NHL playoffs are like getting laid. If you're in, you're in.
even through the back door?

If we really do have a core that just doesn't play North-South well...instead of continuously trying bang that round peg into the square hole...use a system that caters to that
maybe we lose, but at least we don't look as miserable doing it. probably more fun to watch as a fan

He for sure did lotsa mushrooms there

Tro and Kreider has that nice connection for a goal...worth looking at

Ill admit i was singing lavys praises with the start...but tbh, i wouldve gone with knoblauch or roy this past offseason

don't see why we wouldn't stick with him as long as the price more closely matches production as opposed to his 2OA status

I'm really starting to love Will Cuylle. That fucking guy finishes EVERY check out there!
We, as a team finished every check in that 1st period. Then we stopped. Why? We went back to "buzz past the guy with the puck" shit. Will managed to do it all game....he's done it all season.
I wanna see more of what I saw in the 1st period of that game. Hard stop!
a cuylle-chytill-kakko line would've been huge this season

Its good not having the kind of expectations hoisted upon them post the tarasenko/kane moves.
They know that if theyre going to have success its going to have to be based on a strong collective effort and style of play. Theres no ducking that this time.
