Vodka Drunkenski
That whole interview was a brilliant listen - thanks for sharing. It just seems so right watching JD in this fashion with the Rangers again
ThirtyONE
scrimmage today. All the kids. I talked about the Rangers streaming some of camp. This would be a perfect moment for it. Detroit does it. Not sure why the Rangers can't.
Vodka Drunkenski
Didn't they put it on MSG one year? Maybe the year after they made it to the Finals

Like...how Chytil and Andersson and Howden are the only regulars from last year playing in a kids game? They're younger than most of the "kids" on that list. Makes sense that the coaches would want to see them all together. It's a good way to see who stands out.
Phil
The New York Rangers announced today that the team has trimmed its Training Camp roster by seven players. Francois Brassard, Ryan Gropp, Tom McCollum, Ville Meskanen, and Ty Ronning have all been assigned to Training Camp with the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL). In addition, Nico Gross was assigned to his junior team, the Oshawa Generals of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), and Hunter Skinner was assigned to his junior team, the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). https://www.nhl.com/rangers/news/rangers-trim-training-camp-roster-by-seven/c-309169470

That's probably all she wrote for all three of them with regard to making the big show, and a really disappointing thing to see Ronning and Meskanen among the pre-preseason cuts. Pete
Ronning was a 7th rounder and Meskanen undrafted... Wasn't expecting either to do anything, really.
LindG1000
Really disappointing? Why? Ronning was a 7th rounder and Meskanen undrafted... Wasn't expecting either to do anything, really. They've both had their stocks increase rather nicely since their signings/drafts. Ronning was pretty nicely hyped in the past and Meskanen was like the one guy in Hartford who seemed to be able to do anything last year. I'm not sitting here pissed that they're sent down. I'm more surprised that neither of them seemed to show progress enough to get one game in the preseason.
Pete
If Ronning's last name wasn't "Ronning", he might have went undrafted.
Long live the King
I mean Ronning spent the majority of last year in the ECHL. Not really surprised that newcomers like Elmer, Newell, Jones and O'Regan are getting a longer look than him.

josh
A little surprising this early. Not even a preseason game. Must be some good competition.
ThirtyONE
A little surprising this early. Not even a preseason game. Must be some good competition. Let's be real though. There are no open roster spots for forwards unless your name is Kakko or Kravstov. There's one defensive position available. Maybe two. Guys who stand no real chance don't need to be taking someone else's spot in the lineup during preseason.
