Phil
Name: Tarmo Reunanen Position: D Shoots: Left Current Team: TPS (Liiga) Elite Prospects Profile: http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=221513 Reunanen is an offensive minded defenceman who can carry the puck, dangle through traffic and set up his teammates. While he relies on his offensive skills, he is not a defensive liability. Poised and calm in his own end. Doesn't shy away from physical play. Cash or Czech
He and Bodie (if re-signed) are the only offensive defensemen prospects in the system. Glad they nabbed one, hopefully he'll be healthy this year.
Drew a Penalty
I don't really know much about the kid. With all of the good puck movers available in this draft, I'm not sure why him.
Respecttheblue
Seems like a decent sensible kind of pick for a 4th round. Moves the puck but defensively sound as well and not afraid to play the body. Sounds like it checks most of the playoffs requirements boxes to me.
Drew a Penalty
Link Tarmo Reunanen, D, Finland – Poised defender with elite level vision, Reumanen projects as a defender who can kick-start the rush with clean crisp no-look passes. He shows good mobility but there’s some cleaning up to do in that department. It’s his puck handling ability, strong vision and puck distribution skills that make him a top target. 2016 NHL Draft eligible Link An injury caused Reunanen to miss a lot of last season in the Finnish Elite League. He played just 11 regular-season games and two preseason contests for TPS. Reunanen benefits from his feistiness and good stick on defense, both of which add to his package. His offensive game and crisp passing have teams talking about him.

Long live the King
Some news from Finland. Reunanen apparently wasn't getting much ice time fro TPS in Liiga. played in 23 games and registered 3 assists. Will now be playing for Lukko for the rest of the season. They have him slotted on the second pair in his first game tonight. Kids still just 19, turns 20 in March. We'll see what a change of scenery does for him. :tweet: @aj_ranger:Sounds like Reunanen (#NYR) will get to play there, which is what he needs most. Thing I like most about this is that they had been interested in him previously. Tarmo Reunanen (#NYR) goes straight into the Lukko line-up for their game against Ilves tonight. Starting on second D pair.
TwoMinutesForNothing
Seems to be developing well. 4 points in his first 6 games. His previous high in SM Lliga was 3 points in 25 games.
TwoMinutesForNothing
Might be the best prospect we have that nobody talks about. 23 points on the season so far ties for 7th most points by an under 21 D-man since 2000 in the Finnish league. TwoMinutesForNothing
Rangers hit on this pick. Time to start getting excited. Finished the season with 25 points and has a goal and 4 assists in his first 3 playoff games. Plays a very well rounded game. This kid should be considered just as much a part of the future blue line as Hajek or Miller.

SaveByRichter35
To steal a line from So Nashty in the WJC thread, another defender that already sounds like a Ranger. Awesome!

Dunny
The coach is calling him out because he, apparently, won't/can't defend.

LindG1000
Interesting development here: The Finnish league began its preseason recently, and Reunanen has neither been loaned to Lukko nor played for Lukko just yet. Regular season doesn't begin for a few weeks yet (October 10), but this might be something to keep an eye on as the Rangers look to address the LD problem. Zuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuc
Even guys expected to play in the NHL next season have been loaned out to foreign clubs. I didnt realize he wasnt playing. Who? Lundkvist is going to play the entire season in Sweden and I dont think Kravtsov is ?expected? to play in the NHL. Reunanen is 22 and just played two full seasons in Finland where he?s been really good. I think they see him as a possible 3rd line LD or a 7th D.
