Phil
Yeah, I posted it above, Marc. It's such a great track.
Marc
Went to this tour, twice with my dad, I was 11, changed my life. There's not enough out there of this original line up. This is as close as it gets to how it sounded on the night.
Parsley
This thread can not be devoid of PANTERA :m: 96'....ah a great year. High school graduation, going off to college. This album brings it all back.
Phil
Rocking hard this afternoon to Dark Tranquility's last record Construct. Had no idea they'd released anything after 2010's We Are the Void. Thanks, Spotify!
fletch
Mastodon is good stuff. Two that I like are Three Inches of Blood & Nightwish. Unfortunately lead vocalist Tarja Turunen left Nightwish in 2005 because her vocals were amazing.
Phil
It's a Blind Guardian kind of day. Few tracks get my blood pumping the way does! This live track is great too. You're in for a treat if you stick around through to the end. What a crowd.

Parsley
Can't go without some Deftones in this thread. About as aggressive as they got.
NYR2711
Anyone who is into metal, hard core and death metal, check out The Jasta Show podcast, its hosted by Jamey Jasta. I just started listening to it a couple of eek sago, went back and listened to a bunch of the old ones, and he is a great interviewer. They are a bit long at times, an hour and a half mostly, but they are a great listen.

thecurse0101
I dunno if we all listen to the same kinds of metal as I seem to listen to more hardcore/metalcore kind of stuff rather than thrash. This is a classic though:
Phil
I don't know if I'd ever consider a band formed in 2002 as "classic"... Musically it's not bad, but it has that "metalcore" vocal sound I just don't enjoy. Best way I can explain it is that it's very "breathy". Every lyrical line sounds like it's being screamed by a guy who just ran three miles. I also turned it off at the breakdown. That stuff just killed that genre for me. Phil
I don't know if they'd be considered "heavy metal" (I guess it depends who you ask), but today feels like a Faith No More kind of day... in anticipation of the new record — Sol Invictus — out this May! For anyone who hasn't heard it yet, " " is the first single.

Phil
Yeah, it's definitely Faith No More, if that makes any sense. :) Has that definitive Mike Patton sound.
I am Scags
Sorry late to this one. I know I'm showing my age, but you simply can't have ANY metal without...... [video=youtube;-7rpoZE8X8Y]

Phil
Check out Taylor Hawkins' side project The Birds of Satan if you haven't yet. It rocks. Hard. Dunno if they qualify as heavy metal, per se, but they sure rock.
torontonyr
I digt that tune, but the rest seem kind of bland. Still though, adding this one to my playlist.
Phil
And on a heavier note, the new Moonspell ain't so bad. If you're a TypeO fan, or into HIM but want something heavier, these guys can probably satisfy that void. Good doomy goth metal. I hate his screaming voice (sounds like shitty Unearth metalcore), but there's only a handful of tracks he screams on.
