Hi guys,

my son and I are two hockey fans from Germany and we're going to visit NYC beginning of April and will attend the games against Pittsburgh (April 1st) and New Jersey (April 3rd).

We would like to get in contact with some nice and interested Rangers fans before the games, maybe have a beer and simply chat about the greatest sport in the world.

Do you have hints for me where to meet people before the games or in the MSG once we're there?

Thanks, Kind Regards

Jens

Welcome aboard Jens!

Wow!  Germany Rangers fans!!  I didn't expect that one!!  LOL

Yeah If I'm at one of those games, I'd probably go with Keith or RJ...shit yeah, I'll be down for a few pints!  As far as where to go?  There's a bunch of places on or around 7th Avenue to hit.

I just wouldn't wanna stray too far, fearing we not make it back in time for the game!  ...been there, done it!!!

To be honest, I wouldn't directly call myself a Rangers fan. I like the NHL overall, as the games are on a much higher level compared with what we can see in Germany 😉.

Nevertheless, we both like em and wanted to combine visiting our first NHL game with one of the greatest cities in the world 😀. So there we'll be for one week.

You watch a game at MSG, and you'll become a fan pretty much instantly!  Trust all of us....we know!!!  😉

With both of those games being weeknights, you'll probably have less people milling about at the bars pre-game, but a few decent spots would be Stout, Celtic Rail, Blarney Stone.

Other than that, I think your best bet would just to get in for warmups at 6:30. I think doors open at like 6 or so.

Thanks for the tipps. We'll definitively check that out.

Hi,

just wanted to tell you how it was. Been to NYC with my son from March 29th to April 5th and attended the games against the Penguins and the Devils. We've also been at the Islanders versus the Blackhawks between those two.

Before the Rangers games, we've been at Stout und liked it a lot!

Overall, it was a fantastic trip for us. We liked the city a lot (although 6 full days are not enough) and we enjoyed the games at MSG. It was a great experience and we could also represent our local team as we both wore our Düsseldorf jerseys.

Regards

Jens

Did you get stabbed on the subway? Which stations?

I kid. Glad you had a good time. 1 week in nyc is definitely not enough.

That's great to hear. Please excuse the appearance of the city. Some of us apologize for It's current state.

Stout is a nice establishment, good choice for the area. I'm glad you were able to see the new version of Penn Station. It's been under construction for many many years.

Everything was fine, even in the subway ;-). And we used it a lot during this week. After the first game we even wore our jerseys back to the hotel and didn't feel uncomfortable.

I cannot compare as this was our first time in NYC. But we left with good impressions only. We saw a few crazy people along our ways, but never felt uncomfortable or scared.

Yeah, Penn Station was nice, but Grand Central our focal point as our hotel was quite close.
