NJD is a long shot to simply make the playoffs, let alone contender status. And even if they somehow squeak in, highly unlikely they make it out of round 1 with all of glaring holes on defense and putrid goaltending. They have a lot of off-season work to do if they want to go back to being competitive like last season.

contract doesn’t work but that’s the idea, even though rivalry trades hardly ever happen. Both teams well positioned to help each other in this case tho

Jones can slot in and you can always find a depth defenseman for a late pick if need be at TDD. it will be worse but worth the upgrade on our third line imo.
