Pete Posted July 21, 2021 Posted July 21, 2021 Wow, that deal in Edmonton seemed to close a few weeks ago. Guess the discussions went sideways.
Cash or Czech Posted July 21, 2021 Posted July 21, 2021 Need reliability at an affordable price. I think they did well with this one. Good AAV, good term.
BlairBettsBlocksEverything Posted July 21, 2021 Author Posted July 21, 2021 Wow, that deal in Edmonton seemed to close a few weeks ago. Guess the discussions went sideways. Another reason why the Keith trade was brutal. Keith will cost more money than Larsson. bringing in another, much worse, defenseman to eat into Larsson's potential ice time probably factored into Larsson's decision as well
ThirtyONE Posted July 21, 2021 Posted July 21, 2021 Let's be honest, Larsson isn't good. It's an alright signing but I wouldn't want that guy on my team.
RichieNextel305 Posted July 21, 2021 Posted July 21, 2021 It appears they’re also nearing a deal with Jamie Oleksiak too, so he would be the pick from Dallas. And that really sucks, because I really wanted to see us make a play for him in free agency.
siddious Posted July 21, 2021 Posted July 21, 2021 The hell is the point of the draft if all the picks are going to be leaked beforehand? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
BrooksBurner Posted July 21, 2021 Posted July 21, 2021 Let's be honest, Larsson isn't good. It's an alright signing but I wouldn't want that guy on my team. The list of defensemen available who are under contract is very weak. Larsson is probably one of their better options, I think.

I'm a little surprised by Seattle going for as many UFAs as they are but power to them for being able to get reasonable deals done. Larsson at $4M is better than a number of the signed options that are priced similarly. He's a solid second pair D who won't contribute much offensively.
LindG1000 Posted July 21, 2021 Posted July 21, 2021 This. I'm a little surprised by Seattle going for as many UFAs as they are but power to them for being able to get reasonable deals done. It makes sense though - as of right now, most UFAs have been able to speak to 2 teams - their own, and the Kraken. Pick of the litter here.
