Phil Posted July 12, 2021 Posted July 12, 2021 Link: -- Murphy — who has also been an assistant for the Panthers and Flyers, the two teams with whom he spent the majority of his 14-year NHL career — replaces Jacques Martin, dismissed following the season. The 61-year-old Kelly, who has served as an assistant on Gallant’s staff in Florida and Vegas (and in the QMJHL and, most recently, for Team Canada’s championship run in the recent World Championships), will act as the club’s eye-in-sky for two periods before joining the club behind the bench for the third period. Kelly is replacing Greg Brown. The Rangers are still seeking a third assistant coach to in effect replace David Oliver, who was in charge of the forwards and power-play unit. In addition, general manger Chris Drury and Hartford head coach Kris Knoblauch are conducting a search for an assistant to replace Murphy with the Wolf Pack. https://nypost.com/2021/07/12/rangers-add-gord-murphy-mike-kelly-to-gerard-gallants-staff/
Phil Posted July 12, 2021 Author Posted July 12, 2021 Both Kelly and Murphy coached with Gallant prior to this (Vegas), so neither is even remotely surprising. The real question is... "who's the third man!?"
Capt Posted July 12, 2021 Posted July 12, 2021 Who coaches the power play? Worst job in hockey. Take all the blame for it struggling then the players receive the credit when it works.
Sharpshooter Posted July 13, 2021 Posted July 13, 2021 Both Kelly and Murphy coached with Gallant prior to this (Vegas), so neither is even remotely surprising. The real question is... "who's the third man!?" Hulk Hogan new assistant confirmed. He will leg drop Allaire out of nowhere and be the new goalie coach/assistant.
Ozzy Posted July 13, 2021 Posted July 13, 2021 I'd rather have Ric Flair....he's more of a "Glue guy"!!
Phil Posted July 13, 2021 Author Posted July 13, 2021 Hulk Hogan new assistant confirmed. He will leg drop Allaire out of nowhere and be the new goalie coach/assistant. Sam: "Allaire is in the building! Go get 'im Bennster!" Joe: "Yeah, but who's side is he on!?" Sam: "What are you talkin' about!?"
Albatrosss Posted July 13, 2021 Posted July 13, 2021 they could've named any two names and i wouldnt really care. Unless one was Girardi
RangersIn7 Posted July 13, 2021 Posted July 13, 2021 They should bring in Jim Schoenfeld on the basis of this alone….
