siddious
“Longtime coach Benoit Allaire was hired Thursday as the New York Rangers' director of goaltending, one of several moves by new general manager Chris Drury to reshape the hockey operations department. Drury also promoted Jeff Malcolm to Hartford Wolf Pack goaltending coach, named Jean-Ian Filiatrault as the goaltending consultant in the player development department and hired Matt Hunwick to work in the hockey operations' player development department.” https://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/31702123/new-york-rangers-general-manager-chris-drury-makes-changes-hockey-operations Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Drew a Penalty
Seems like mostly title bumps as opposed to any significant changes in day-to-day activities, at least for Allaire and Malcolm. Allaire has always had influence over goaltending throughout the organization but it seems as though they're giving him more subordinates so as not to run him ragged. Malcolm has been with the organization for a number of years and it seems like they're just formally giving him the title of coach as opposed to advisor. Always good to see more developmental positions, though. It seems like that has been of help to the number of youngsters flowing in.

More than likely looking for candidates for him to train as eventual replacements I am sure he wont be around forever.

His brother, Francois, retired from goalie coaching at 62. So that would give Benoit another 5 years at which point he could drop back to more of a consulting position, should he follow a similar path. The job is really his as long as he wants it. Sharpshooter
https://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/31702123/new-york-rangers-general-manager-chris-drury-makes-changes-hockey-operations Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Jean-Ian Filiatrault is quite a name, and a great one at that. Allaire will be here as long as he wants to in some capacity. He's like the Glen Sather of goalie coaches, except his long tenure is more deserved. Matt Hunwick? I did a double take when I saw that. lol
