Vodka Drunkenski Posted May 7, 2021 Posted May 7, 2021 Has he ever done any broadcasting? Sent from my iPhone using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
Karan Posted May 7, 2021 Posted May 7, 2021 Terrible idea aside from the name. Gretz is a complete bore to listen to.
siddious Posted May 7, 2021 Posted May 7, 2021 Forget Gretzky I hope espn brings back funny hockey commercials Sent from my iPhone using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
High and Wide Posted May 7, 2021 Posted May 7, 2021 Aside from the fact that he isn't exactly fun to listen to, I feel like this is beneath him. I have a hard time believing that "The Great One" would consider taking a job in broadcasting. Like who is the closest all-time great who made the switch to commentator?
Cash or Czech Posted May 7, 2021 Posted May 7, 2021 Who would the Tony Romo of hockey be? Guy that had a decent career, can read the game incredibly well, and communicate it to the audience in a fun and enjoyable manner? Certainly isn't Gretzky.

He and Theissman were the only two that came to mind. Maybe Phil Esposito? But he has personality.

ThirtyONE Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 Jeremy Roenick, but, we know how that went. The equivalent of Romo would be someone with a wholesome, non-confrontational personality. People confuse being an asshole with having a personality. Problem with the NHL, is I honestly can't think of anyone who has a personality.

Lol when was he ever confrontational or an asshole on the air? So he was a dog off the air, who gives a fuck?

I have a hard time believing that "The Great One" would consider taking a job in broadcasting. Like who is the closest all-time great who made the switch to commentator? Probably Denis Potvin? He was a color guy for the Panthers. And was fucking atrocious at it.
siddious Posted May 25, 2021 Posted May 25, 2021 I had no idea he was even with the Oilers Sent from my iPhone using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
Morphinity 2.0 Posted May 25, 2021 Posted May 25, 2021 Gonna be horrible. Super boring whenever he's on Sirius or the Pebble Beach Pro-Am broadcasts.
Patrick Bateman Posted May 25, 2021 Posted May 25, 2021 I heard Dustin Johnson got him on the chooch and he's been a real wild man these days
Morphinity 2.0 Posted May 25, 2021 Posted May 25, 2021 Maybe he was doing backflips off DJ's boat too
Ozzy Posted May 25, 2021 Posted May 25, 2021 Paul Bissonette. Oh man!! I loved Biss!!! Dude had me rolling on the floor some nights!!!
Patrick Bateman Posted May 25, 2021 Posted May 25, 2021 Need Tim Stapleton to get some love, that dude was the funny Chiclets guest by a margin. Maybe get Commodore too? #insiderrrrrr They should extend an offer to Yandle to join the panel for whenever he decides to retire
Phil Posted May 25, 2021 Author Posted May 25, 2021 I mean, if they want to actaully have fun, they need the guys who actually have it, not the squares like Gretzky. Their #1 target should be BizNasty.
siddious Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 They’re too edgy no way they let these guys on national tv like that lol Sent from my iPhone using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
Sharpshooter Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 ESPN starts simulcasting Spittin' Chiclets during hockey coverage. Imagine! LOL I love Wayne, but a hockey broadcaster he is not.
