Sometimes they, you know, I call it play[ing] power play instead of hockey within a power play and I think that’s kind of happening to us right now. We’re just a little bit too methodical, we’re too slow, too predictable and I think we’re overthinking it.”

— David Quinn on the power play Some Lulz:

Gravesy
Well, I didn't think we'd beat Washington and we did. Maybe the same will hold true here... That's how I feel. All logic suggests they'll get their doors blown off, but it would be so on brand for this team to come out as world beaters and hand it to the B's in one of those glorious one-offs. Mistercosmic
Zibanejad develops the three-timer (first he hits the air, second ice, third partly puck) as his new signature move during pp and DQ puts him together with Howden and Gauthier to get the scoring machine goin'. CBrowningPI
Is there a point where Quinn might consider a Panarin - Zibanejad - Kakko first line? Kreider - Strome - Buch seems bad but is this such a nightmare.

Pete
Seeing how Lafrienere really needs the puck right now, I would be thinking about: - Panarin Zib Buch, to get Z going. - Laf Strome Kakko, Strome does his thing, get the puck to your LW and then get open. - Kreider Howden PDG/Goat, meat and potatoes. - 4th. I like those. I might suggest switching Buch to the 2nd line to help them out in both ends. Not sure I see Quinn moving Kreider down to the "3rd" line, especially after praising him in today's interviews.
