4EverRangerFrank Posted September 18, 2020 Posted September 18, 2020 MacTruck is a warrior in the game and rightfully deserves his name in the Cup. Convince me otherwise.

Keirik Posted September 18, 2020 Posted September 18, 2020 Ride the Lightning! Win in 6. Tampa scores 21 goals, lets in 15. One blowout, one shutout.
Bugg Posted September 18, 2020 Posted September 18, 2020 Stamkos is there, ruled out for game 1 at least. https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/lightning-havent-ruled-steven-stamkos-playing-stanley-cup-final/
BrooksBurner Posted September 18, 2020 Posted September 18, 2020 Stars in 6. They play a game that will frustrate the Lightning IMO, with better talent up front than the Islanders.
Sod16 Posted September 19, 2020 Posted September 19, 2020 Dallas is a tougher team to play than the Islanders, and Tampa had loads of trouble with the Islanders.
Pete Posted September 19, 2020 Posted September 19, 2020 Dallas is a tougher team to play than the Islanders, and Tampa had loads of trouble with the Islanders. Tampa didn't have trouble with the Islanders. They had Trouble with Varlamov. They threw up 31 shots/60...Which is alot. Varly was .921 and 2.46GAA. Dallas hasn't faced anyone with the scoring depth of Tampa. If Point is healthy? Tampa rolls.
Sod16 Posted September 19, 2020 Posted September 19, 2020 Point is obviously got something that bothers him more with use. He tore up the Islanders for the first half of regulation in Game 6 but was a non-factor thereafter. Usually there is a longer rest period before the finals, which the league likes to hype the event. Without that this year, Point may be going through a cycle of play a bit, aggravate it, rest, play a bit, aggravate it.
Keirik Posted September 19, 2020 Posted September 19, 2020 The only thing that’ll extend the series in my opinion is Tampa’s health. Even though they fairly dominated in every category except scoreboard in the last round, they wore down a bit and the Isles play heavy. I think they win but it’ll be a similar series because of how banged up they are.
Pete Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 It's a travesty of the Stars win. 4 shots in last 28 minutes. What a joke.
BrooksBurner Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 It's a travesty of the Stars win. 4 shots in last 28 minutes. What a joke. And Tampa had 4 shots in the first 20. Dallas plays a well structured game. Not much reason to take any chances when up 2 goals.
Pete Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 Dallas finished with 20 shots and Tampa with 36 so it's not quite the same. Regardless, top line for Tampa was shit. I don't expect that to happen again. And Tampa had 4 shots in the first 20. Dallas plays a well structured game. Not much reason to take any chances when up 2 goals.
Keirik Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 Lightning sure look gassed. I’m very surprised they started the finals so quickly. I know, bubble and all that, but an extra day or two off would have been very nice and customary. It’s not like the Lightning went to 7 last round.
Sod16 Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 This thing is already being played almost four months late as it is, I think they had to start it fast, especially given the lack of travel. Goal drought for Tampa now at three regulation markers in three games. At some point, I expect a real beak out, but it's not clear whether it they will shoot their wad in one game with it, as sort of was the case against the Islanders.
Bugg Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 Ryan McDonough has played a lot of hockey through the last 7 seasons or so. And it looks it. Always like him as a player, but he looks really beat up and tired.
Sod16 Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 Yes, one minute he's anticipating, doing something remarkably deft, and reminding me about what I loved about him as a player. The next minute, he seems a bit worn down or just an instant not quick enough. Still like to have him on my side rather than the opposition's.
Karan Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 Yup, Stamkos is back. Hope he can make it through the entire game.
