I agree. Unless Carolina has a deal that completely over delivers; it's not smart to negotiate on a time clock and wait until the offseason when teams are looking to fill long term holes to get maximum value.

Yeah. It doesn't make a lot of sense right now. In the offseason it makes plenty of sense though. Could they be worried they can't unload him in the summer and it's forcing the issue now? I mean moving Skjei makes the left side defense considerably worse for the rest of the year.
