Drew a Penalty Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 They're giving him another full week off. It seems like it.
ThirtyONE Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 Can we talk about how this team has managed to survive without their second best player? I'm fucking amazed with how this team has done without him.
RangersIn7 Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 Can we talk about how this team has managed to survive without their second best player? I'm fucking amazed with how this team has done without him. That seems to have been lost in the weeds
ThirtyONE Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 That seems to have been lost in the weeds Of course it has. If we're not shitting on someone, we're not posting.
Pete Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 We can talk about anything LOL. Someone needs to open a thread on it.
phillyb Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 Can we talk about how this team has managed to survive without their second best player? I'm fucking amazed with how this team has done without him. Fucking seriously. And the kids are gelling. Every time I look at the scoresheet, I see Chytil and Kakko. Can't ask for much more (well...Andersson, lol).
Albatrosss Posted November 19, 2019 Posted November 19, 2019 this sucks. he can not be relied on in the long run. I say trade him and get something very good in return.
BrooksBurner Posted November 19, 2019 Posted November 19, 2019 this sucks. he can not be relied on in the long run. I say trade him and get something very good in return. This might be the bitter truth, but he has a NMC for the rest of his contract. It would be his call.
Albatrosss Posted November 19, 2019 Posted November 19, 2019 This might be the bitter truth, but he has a NMC for the rest of his contract. It would be his call. really? wtf? everyone gets a no movement contract. that's why trades are so rare now
RangersIn7 Posted November 19, 2019 Posted November 19, 2019 Can they actually get something of value for him, given the fact that there is this issue? Looks like at least 3 concussions that can be conclusively established as such. Depending on what data you look at, that number could be as high 5-7. Who knows for sure. But it’s clear, from what’s going on with him right now and how they’ve handled him that it’s most likely that a concussion is the case and teams will not be forthright about that.
Drew a Penalty Posted November 19, 2019 Posted November 19, 2019 Link: Still out until at least next week.

They would definitely get a huge return from him. Even if his long-term health may be a worry, he would be an amazing addition to any contender, especially with that contract. Two 1st would be a minimum. That said, no way we should trade him. I dont think its that big of a concern as some may think. ThirtyONE Posted November 19, 2019 Posted November 19, 2019 Getting Mika back will be a huge boost. Personally, I'd love to see Strome stay at center on the 2nd line between Panarin and whoever. Bump Chytil down to 3rd line and Howden to 4th. That gives the lineup some pretty good depth.

I dont think its that big of a concern as some may think. Sent from my iPhone using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk Glad you took my post for what it was, a legitimate question. Though now I’ll ask another. What is the basis or precedent for your point of view regarding Zib bringing back a big return? Or is it based simply on him being a highly productive player? And not saying that isn’t a fair basis, because by in large it is. But it takes at all into account how any team might view his medical history, especially as it relates to concussions, which we know increase in likelihood and severity as a general rule the more you have them. We can cite maybe Lindros and LaFontaine. Lindros brought back a top prospect and two established young players plus a 3rd. LaFontaine brought back a 2nd and future considerations. In both those deals, neither team did well long-term. Probably fair to say neither team won. And both Lindros and LaFontaine suffered concussions again. And missed lots of games and/or had their careers ended because of that. Not pissing on your position. Also I’ll acknowledge that those deals were 20ish years ago, so we know more and can probably treat concussions more effectively now, but the prognosis still isn’t near good. I’m saying it’s such a crap shoot that a 2 1sts return probably would represent a fleecing, and that not a hard conclusion for an opposing GM to arrive at.
4EverRangerFrank Posted November 19, 2019 Posted November 19, 2019 All this talk about multiple concussions is making me sick. Such a dangerous situation for Zib. Sure, he can probably come back again and play but man-oh-man, I'd hate to see him ruin his life. I'm respecting his decision either way...play or walk away. Extreme? Not when you think of him sitting in a dark room.
The Dude Posted November 20, 2019 Posted November 20, 2019 LOL, team says it's not a concussion. Message board- "Its another concussion trade him"
Dunny Posted November 20, 2019 Posted November 20, 2019 The team doesn't have to tell you what it is. They can call it whatever they want.
Ozzy Posted November 20, 2019 Posted November 20, 2019 The team doesn't have to tell you what it is. They can call it whatever they want. I think it's a strained nut bag from carrying the team....but what do I know!
BrooksBurner Posted November 20, 2019 Posted November 20, 2019 I think it's a strained nut bag from carrying the team....but what do I know! Well they said upper body injury, but I suppose he could have had his nuts slung over his shoulder at the time of injury?
Ozzy Posted November 20, 2019 Posted November 20, 2019 Well they said upper body injury, but I suppose he could have had his nuts slung over his shoulder at the time of injury? I saw the hit, Rmc....his balls were in his throat right before contact! LOL
