One of the other Sens roasted Matthews over that GIF.

The more we see of him, the more we realize what an immature, entitled, douche he is. Makes sense he didn't get the C.

Still a stud hockey player, tho.

I would love to see Sabourin kick his little azz.

Oh please. No pearl clutching over trash talk.

Agree 100%.

Hardly pearl clutching. More like Matthews lack of class. Eventually, Matthews will get his ass handed to him and wish there was a player to defend him.

"I thought it was a little disrespectful to be honest," said Borowiecki. "We're not all blessed with Auston Matthews talent unfortunately, but I truly wish I was. Some of us have to do it the hard way. I don't have his God-given talent and I'm sure [sabourin]*would tell you he doesn't either and for some of us we don't get the accolades or the glory, but we're still legitimate hockey players and we've worked a lot and sacrificed a ton to get here."

But they gave him an A...

NHL could use more like Matthews.

Oh, and Kakko's first tonight.

OK.., but an A isn't a C and I guess they have to do something to try and lure him back being that he doesn't get along with the coach.

You can have flare and not show people up, like Patrick Kane does.

Matthews is just a D bag.

Everyone pencils in a win when they see Ottawa on the schedule, but with a new season and at home, Sens will have some spring in their legs. Going to be disappointing if Rangers can't come away with a regulation win.

This second line must be showing something impressive in practice, cause at lease on paper, it makes no f'n sense to me.

Gotta be changed to this:

Chris Kreider / Mika Zibanejad / Pavel Buchnevich

Artemi Panarin / Ryan Strome / Kaapo Fuckin' Kakko

You can flip Buchnevich and Kakko if you'd like (maybe even preferred), but Zibanejad and The Bread Man just have to be split.

Kreider is just about an average hockey player next to someone like Strome, but Panarin can carry the playmaker load.

Sure - you'd love to have Zibanejad surrounded by the best possible talent, but he's already proven he can be a star without it (and may only be getting better).

Agreed

That little jersey check was bullshit. Especially from someone who will never have to answer the call

He has 11+ million reasons to come back, and I'm pretty sure in a him-or-me scenario, Babcock?who's never gotten the Leafs past the first round?is being thanked for his service.

Related: I'm pretty sure cabbie-punching and accusations of rape are at the very least grounds for being called a douchebag. If you're going to slight Matthews' character, I'd probably pick a better moral candidate to Stan for.

$11 million reasons to come back as a UFA? Pretty sure Arizona will come calling.

RE: Kane...The rape was proven completely made up, and you know this. Try harder. The cabbie punching thing, I'll give you, but Matthews disrespects others players, it's kind of sad in a way.

I mean you're a wrestling fan, so I get it. But this is real life and what Matthews did is kind of pathetic and lacks character. No matter who you compare him to.

I thought it was funny.

Easy for whatever his name is to have a come back, with his team up, too.

Oh originally I thought it was pretty savage until I read the article with the quote.

2 sides to every story.
