Albatrosss Posted June 25, 2019 Posted June 25, 2019 I don't know half of them. who's Vaclav Nedomansky? and Hayley Wickenheiser or Jerry York? and who the hell is Sergei Zubov?
Slobberknocker Posted June 26, 2019 Posted June 26, 2019 weak class if u ask me. mogilny gets no love
paddynyc Posted June 26, 2019 Posted June 26, 2019 Great to see Zuby get into the HOF what a great asest in '94'
Albatrosss Posted June 26, 2019 Posted June 26, 2019 but honestly and without bias, is Zubov really a hall of famer?
Pete Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 but honestly and without bias, is Zubov really a hall of famer?Look at his numbers. Without a doubt. And a 2 time Cup winner.
Zuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuc Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 Who is Vaclav Nedomansky? 421 NHL games in only 7 seasons. Averaged 0.66 p/pg. How is he a HHOF'er? Zuc got a better career lol.

Zuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuc Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 1st eastern european to defect to play in the NHL Zuc is the first norwegian to score a goal in a stanley cup final. HHOF'er for sure.
Pete Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 Zuc is the first norwegian to score a goal in a stanley cup final. HHOF'er for sure.Considering back when he defected, you could get killed for doing so, it's a pretty big deal.
Albatrosss Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 Considering back when he defected, you could get killed for doing so, it's a pretty big deal. so he should be in the Defecters Hall of fame, not hockey. By that logic Mogilny should've been in the hall of fame for dozen of years for being the first Russian to play in the NHL or first Russian professional hockey player to defect to USA. or some shit like that
Bugg Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 Zubov led the 1994 NYR in regular season scoring, and was 4th in the playoffs. Liked the bite Ulf Samuleson brought, but that trade was a huge mistake. https://www.hockey-reference.com/players/z/zubovse01.html
Albatrosss Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 Look at his numbers. Without a doubt. And a 2 time Cup winner. you're right, numbers are impressive. too bad we didn't see as much of him as dallas did. shame
Bugg Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 so he should be in the Defecters Hall of fame, not hockey. By that logic Mogilny should've been in the hall of fame for dozen of years for being the first Russian to play in the NHL or first Russian professional hockey player to defect to USA. or some shit like that Tretiak is in too. It's the Hockey Hall of Fame, not the NHL Hall of Fame.
Albatrosss Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 Tretiak is in too. It's the Hockey Hall of Fame, not the NHL Hall of Fame. Tretiak got there for his hockey accomplishments, not political

By that logic Mogilny should've been in the hall of fame for dozen of years for being the first Russian to play in the NHL or first Russian professional hockey player to defect to USA or some shit like that gotta update your Russian history b/c Slava Fetisov was the 1st russian to defect and play in the NHL
Albatrosss Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 gotta update your Russian history b/c Slava Fetisov was the 1st russian to defect and play in the NHL not true. Mogilny was in 1989, Fetisov did not defect at all.
Future Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 Mogilny was the first to defect, but Fetisov and his group were probably more influential (and I think first). They both played their first game on 10/5 that season.

There's a whole movie on how Fetisov fought the soviet establishment to go play in NA on his terms
