siddious Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 I?ll go out on a limb here... St. Louis in 6 Sent from my iPhone using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
fletch Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 The Bruins appear to be the better team, IMO. I'm hoping for solid defensive zone structure and heroic goaltending from St Louis to eke out some low-scoring, one goal victories, hoping for Blues in 6.

I'm hoping for solid defensive zone structure and heroic goaltending from St Louis to eke out some low-scoring, one goal victories, hoping for Blues in 6. There will be a lot of physicality in this series, but the Blues will be the team the Bruins wanted to face the least for the Cup. Blues in 6. This series is so even, you can make the case for both teams to win the holy grail. STL will be better in terms of the players they ice and will have a chip on their shoulders that has lasted for 49 years.
fletch Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 After opening goal, strong few minutes from the Blues. Don't love the two offensive zone penalties as the Bruins gained some momentum during some dangerous Power Plays. A good game one so far.

Agree the Blues are a tougher matchup for the Bs than the Sharks, Martin Jones was really leaking oil and the Sharks were really banged up at the end of that series. I just see more offensive threats up and down the Boston lineup, and the experience in goal and at key positions. Both teams love the forecheck so the third and fourth lines could be key in generating scoring opportunities.

Jones was leakier than an oil reserve and that controversial goal in game 3 brought about the slow and painful death of the Sharks this season. It almost showed how SJS wasn't meant to go that far.
Stephen Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 There is a brick wall in the net: his name is Jordan Binnington.
fletch Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 Bad turnover leads to the second Blues goal, after that, too much Bruins. Need more from St Louis in the third to earn a road victory.
Bugg Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 If refs are going to let Bruins brutalize the Blues, no point in watching.
Abe Froman Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 Blues need to get their shit together or this series is going to be over in 4 games.
Bugg Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 While the refs are doing them no favors, game since 1st has been played in Blues' end. Not getting the puck out crisply, and doing nothing on the rare occasion they get in the Bruins' end.
BrooksBurner Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 Back breaker for the Blues. Reminiscent of the Rangers quieting the LAK crowd in 2014 just to blow it.
Sod16 Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 If the Bruins win the Cup, they will have done it without beating any of the top 6 teams from the regular season. I doubt that's ever happened before. Kind of lame, wouldn't you say?

Kind of lame, wouldn't you say? Don't fault them. That's the format, and everyone knew that going in. But the seeding format needs to be changed. Line up them up 1-8 in each conference and reseed after the opening round. Don't understand why the NHL choose this format in the first place.
paddynyc Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 Blues took to many penalties last night and need to be more disciplined.
4EverRangerFrank Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 STL wins in OT! Out-worked BOS this game and came out strong in OT. You could see it coming once the delayed penalty was called...BOS was frozen in their tracks. Good series. Go 7 games and punish the crap out of each other.
fletch Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Nice to see Blues tie the series up. Going to be an interesting game 3
Dunny Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 My neighbour got on a plane and went to game #1. $2200/two tix. Crazy. Obviously he didn't go last night, I just went out for my 6 AM smoke and he's putting garbage out yelling at me about going to St. Louis tomorrow. I fucking hate Boston sports.

Go Blues !!!! Glad they tied it up last night and they were a different team last night from game one much more in your face. Lets Go BLU-es !!!!!
phillyb Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Great win on away ice. Played a great game and can't wait to see the response in STL. That crowd is gonna be electric.
BrooksBurner Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 They said it was the first win in Stanley Cup Finals history for the Blues. They were 0-13 after game 1. That kind of blew my mind. Make it to the Cup Finals 3 different times and get swept each time.
