Sod16
Regulation (ie, real) record now 20-28-19. This league has to do something about teams playing for ties. Before the OT and loser point era, no one had records like that. Red Wings have 20 regulation ties. In 1982-83, the last season before OT first instituted, teams averaged 12 ties each in an 80 game schedule. We will have many teams with 25 over that. Dunny
This is what the league wants, parity across the board.
Pete
The flip side is fans would complain if the playoffs were decided in December. League has to justify that 82 game schedule.
Fatfrancesa
Parity is this biggest lie of all. The league wanted costs under control, that’s it. Surely they weren’t implementing the cap to break up ranger and maple leaf dynasties.
Ozzy
"Entitlement point" for us...yay! Great stuff from Lemeiux tonight. I think the kid's gonna be a good one. I really like watching him play. The rest was a fucking snoozer.
Dunny
Lemieux is the single reason why I'm even watching at this point.

Ozzy
Yeah, he's tons of fun. I look for him every single time. I love his positioning too. He always seems to anticipate where the puck is going to be. I also ADORE that he finishes checks in the neutral zone. The guy actually finishes checks everywhere but I really like that he slows down the opposition player in the NZ by laying the body on him. It gives our D men that little extra time to get back there and move the puck out a lot easier. I watched it again last night, when his line was out there, the D was much more fluid with retrieving pucks and moving it up ice. Not so much with the other lines, and we got pinned a couple of times on account of it. Ok, it was Detroit, but still it was noticeable. Oh, and that touch pass to Buch???
Kevin
Lemieux is the single reason why I'm even watching at this point. For me it's Vesey. :bravery:

Kevin
you're a masochist? Seriously though...that guy can't maintain a high-level of play for more than 3 game stretches. I've seen more than enough of him.
LONG LONG LONG TIME FAN
Top line has regressed since the trade deadline; M.Z. was the engine driving that bus, imo.

Sod16
We're at the end of season three for Vesey, so I think what you see is what you get. Hopefully, some other team's scout has by chance caught an inordinate number of those three game stretches where he is on.
