According to a press box observer in Carolina last night, the Maple Leafs had two guys taking in Rangers-Hurricanes including AGM Laurence Gilman. The Leafs have scouted Carolina a lot but the Rangers would also be of interest to them.

On the latest episode of his podcast, Bob McKenzie said that the Rangers "expect and think they're going to get a 3rd-round pick for Adam McQuaid." It was also mentioned during a discussion about hypothetical depth additions for Toronto's defense.

we're not getting a first for McQuaid

 

 

We traded an AHL defenseman capable of filling in for a bit if there are injuries and a 4th rounder for him (and a conditional 7th, no idea what that condition is). His value doesn't skyrocket that much in less than a season.

 

If we could get a 2nd rounder for him that is great business done by Gorton. A third rounder is a good value on him. If we give up what we gave for him on draft day that probably nets us trading up to a pick to take someone in the third
