Pretty cool, and for the Kenny Albert fans out there...

NBC will include some elements in its main TV broadcast. For those who want more, it will provide a second-screen digital stream showcasing live puck and player data on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app. The stream will be produced out of its own truck, called by its own broadcast team of Kenny Albert and Keith Jones, and feature graphics with real-time stats like skating speed, shot speed, shift times and total ice time.

During the ASG... I think the line trailing the puck would help the casual fan, but I found distracting. MPH of skaters, pucks, etc were cool... but smart graphics better on larger TVs.

The video game style name plate was not good — enormously distracting.

The tail on the puck I didn’t understand either.

Like I said above, fun for the ASG but no real reason to use either.

I think it would be really interesting to see stuff like Distance Skated, Average Skate Speed, Time With Puck Possession, # of stops and starts, etc. etc.

Some of those give a quantifiable measure to things like "effort" and "play speed."
