Stephen Posted November 13, 2018 Posted November 13, 2018 CBS Sports: Capitals' Tom Wilson eligible to return after arbitrator reduces suspension to 14 games. https://www.cbssports.com/nhl/news/capitals-tom-wilson-eligible-to-return-after-arbitrator-reduces-suspension-to-14-games/ Sent from my [device_name] using http://Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
Phil Posted November 13, 2018 Posted November 13, 2018 The good news is, even with the reduction (which was clearly always going to happen), the next time he does this, the league can hammer him.
josh Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 Such a bs move. It’s a result of the NHL’s lack of consistency when handing out disciplinary action. In a union environment, you can’t randomly punish one guy more, or make up rules as you go along.
Stephen Posted November 14, 2018 Author Posted November 14, 2018 Can the league ever be consistent with this. If you do the crime, serve the time Sent from my [device_name] using http://Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk

It would mean suspensions after almost every game for the same and similar hits - which they don’t. But they can’t target guys to try to make an example out of them.
LONG LONG LONG TIME FAN Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 The league had nil to do with the reduction. It was decided by a controversial neutral arbitrator, Shyam Das. Guy already served 16 games. The whole process, like the officiating, is a sad joke.
Gravesy Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 He's a repeat offender, in spite of various disciplinary actions for similar (read: identical) infringements, so there is certainly an argument for more severe reactions than the norm. I don't think it can be filed under "making an example of" when it comes to Wilson. And I say this as a closet Tom Wilson fan.
Kevin Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 I think Wilson is going to be a useless player after this. Basically neutered and can't play the on the edge style that makes him effective because one more bad hit and he's done for a long time.
Gravesy Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 He was excellent in his first game back to be fair.
Pete Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 He's got alot to prove of he doesn't want to get bought out and end up in the Danish League.
Gravesy Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 He took out a goalie last night. Come on. He was pushed into the goalie. That wasn't on him at all.
Scott Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 Wilson just dropped Oleksiak after it was a given that Oleksiak would be looking for Wilson after he destroyed Ashton-Reece last time they met.
Scott Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 Fight, looking for the video. Oleksiak had no idea where he was.
