Long live the King
Eeli Tolvanen took another step toward joining the Nashville Predators on Monday when his contract with Jokerit of the Kontinental Hockey League was terminated by mutual consent. The contract with Jokerit, which was eliminated from the KHL playoffs on Saturday, had an option that allowed it to be terminated after the first season. Tolvanen, an 18-year-old forward, was Nashville's first-round pick (No. 30) in the 2017 NHL Draft. He is considered one of the best prospects not playing in the NHL. Nashville can offer Tolvanen a three-year, entry-level contract with a maximum salary of $925,000 per season, according to the NHL's collective bargaining agreement. According to the Tennessean, Tolvanen's agent, Jay Grossman, said the goal is to have Tolvanen join the Predators this season. https://www.nhl.com/news/eeli-tolvanen-another-step-closer-to-joining-nashville-predators/c-297330390

Patrick Bateman
Why was he drafted so late? Was this just a breakout year for him?
Phil
Despite committing, his poor grades made Boston College reject his admission just before the Draft. Sent his stock plummeting. Phil
I mean, I agree for the most part, but the NHL is still a largely conservative league, so that kind of thing still holds a lot of weight with scouts and front offices that still put a premium on character. Puck Head
Most expected him to go around 20....but at time of draft he didn?t know where he was going to play which scared some teams. He will probably end up a steal at 30 Sent from my iPhone using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
Zuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuc
How high would you have him in a re-draft? top 3? I could see both Chytil and Tolvanen in the top 10 for sure.

Phil
Nothing. I just don't think he ever belonged being taken first or second overall. Sent from my iPhone using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
