Cash or Czech Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 They probably got some good scouting time with him as they checked in on Halverson.
Respecttheblue Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 Seems like he progressed last year, too. That's a plus.
Kevin Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 http://www.blueshirtsunited.com/video/getting-know-tim-gettinger-prospect-camp One of the better interviews for an 18 y.o. Can't teach that kind of size either.
Respecttheblue Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 I still like reding things like this especially when the player is successful He is 6-6, 220 and was ranked 9th by The Hockey News Future Watch that wrote, "Towering winger from Ohio is a good net-front presence. Having breakout season." https://www.sny.tv/rangers/news/rangers-sign-prospect-tim-gettinger-to-entry-level-contract/219473196
Future Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 Can he skate? At that size, I just worry that he'd be a pilon.
Dunny Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 I'm going to assume he's going to be Patrick Maroon.
Dunny Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 I'm going to assume he's going to be Patrick Maroon.
Future Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 That wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. He's a few inches taller than Maroon though and, I'm assuming, will add some weight. But there aren't really a lot of 6'6" 235 guys to compare him to lol
Long live the King Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 Playoff Update: SSM leads series 2-1 Gettinger 1g (was a shorty) and 1a in the 3 games and a +3
Long live the King Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 SSM was eliminated yesterday. Gettinger had 4 goals and 3 assists for 7 points in 11 playoff games.
Dunny Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 SSM was eliminated yesterday. Gettinger had 4 goals and 3 assists for 7 points in 11 playoff games. Pretty disappointing numbers for a guy that is simply on a different physical level then the rest of the league.
Long live the King Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 Pretty disappointing numbers for a guy that is simply on a different physical level then the rest of the league. He did increase his goal total from 17 to 31 during the regular season. Would be cool if he has a great offseason, a hot start next year, and makes the World Junior roster enroute to a 50 goal season.
Long live the King Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 Starting to heat up. Goals in 6 straight. 7 goals and 10 points in that time. 28g 22a 50p in 48 games on the year
Long live the King Posted April 2, 2018 Posted April 2, 2018 On to the 2nd round. Gettinger had 1 goal and 7 assists for 8 points in 4 games in the 1st round.
Zuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuc Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 Is this his last year in the OHL? Will he join Hartford next year?
Dunny Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 Soo now plays Owen Sound. Soo is stacked to the point of absurdity, I hope they implode.
Dunny Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 Is this his last year in the OHL? Will he join Hartford next year? Yes, Hartford or Greenville. I think he'll struggle initially as his greatest asset is neutralized in Pro, which is his size.
Long live the King Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 Yes, Hartford or Greenville. I think he'll struggle initially as his greatest asset is neutralized in Pro, which is his size. As a 5th rounder, if he can be the next BGBB I'd be stoked.
Dunny Posted April 18, 2018 Posted April 18, 2018 Gettinger and the Hounds squeek by the Little Engine That Could, Owen Sound, in a crazy game 7. I didn't get to a game in OS, but I asked a buddy how Gettinger looked and he responded with "Who?"
