BlairBettsBlocksEverything
Buying a new mattress on a budget. Any type of recommendations? Currently sleeping on a twin mattress for the last 2 years and I'm tired of it. Definitely want at least a full but perhaps a queen. any places with good deals? any specific brand recommendations? Morphinity 2.0
All I can say is that memory foam is the shit. I was hesitant at first because I always used to sleep on a spring mattress, but memory foam is great.
Pete
It's the most stressful thing ever.
BlairBettsBlocksEverything
How do you sleep? I tend to curl up on my side. I have noticed back pain as a result of it though. I went to a chiropractor and he actually recommended getting rid of my box spring because it allows for the mattress to sink in under me a little more. So I definitely think I just need a firmer mattress.
josh
Just buy whatever. Getting mattress advice is tough. People sleep differently, like different firmness, etc. Most people replace them often, or never, so the actual mattress is almost irrelevant. High and Wide
I sleep on my stomach and use an extra firm. I sleep pretty consistently 7-10 hours. When I get home I'll post the model.
EdMc28
Go to the store and lay on a bunch of different ones. Everyone has their own preference. I know personally I'm very picky and I even have trouble sleeping when I stay in hotels because I just can't get comfortable.
Phil
All I can say is that memory foam is the shit. I was hesitant at first because I always used to sleep on a spring mattress, but memory foam is great. Seriously. We last went to Bob's and got the Bob-o-pedic. Best mattress I've ever slept on. Just amazing. I'd highly recommend at least laying on it, as it's a fraction of the cost of most memory foam mattresses — especially Tempurpedic. My suggestion: definitely go lay on them, and do yourself two huge favors when you do so: 1. TAKE YOUR TIME! You are in no rush. Mattresses are expensive. Be confident in the one you like most. 2. Don't just lay on your back. Most places will put a "foot skirt" at the bottom so you can actually lay on it the way you would actually lay on a real mattress to sleep at home. Be sure to rest for a few moments and really get a good feel of them. I actually annoyed my wife in going back and forth between two models when we went, probably a dozen times, each time spending a good minute or so on each before I made my final decision. Fuhgeddaboudit
I also need a full. I've been sleeping on a twin for quite awhile. Pretty uncomfortable. I like to move around

BlairBettsBlocksEverything
Sleepys has an awesome deal online. I was hesitant to purchase a mattress without actually testing it but.... a QUEEN size Sealy Posturepedic firm mattress set, for $360 bucks they have half off on most mattresses right now. I also googled for coupon codes and got a 10% off coupon and another coupon for free shipping (saves $80). And it delivers on Sunday as I move into my new apt. very excited to have room to sprawl out and not sleep on a crappy twin anymore

Fuhgeddaboudit
well it had awesome reviews online but I'm pretty sure Sealy's is a name brand no? I guess. But there seems to be so many different brands so I was curious. How long is the sale? Does it say on their site?

viventi
I need to get a new one too. Ive had the same mattress for the past 8 years or so. I want to get something with more support, I honestly feel like my mattress isn't helping my back get any better after these car accidents. I saw that sleepy's has half off mattresses now too, makes me want to stop by one. Ive heard mixed reviews on the one you mentioned, Phil.

Fuhgeddaboudit
I'm going to check Sleepy's this weekend to see if they can order me one online from the store, and it'll go with the 50% off.
Pete
The Bob-O-Pedic? It's fantastic. For people with back issues, depending on the issue (disc vs muscle vs nerve our arthritic condition) foam mattresses are not good.

torontonyr
I sleep on a trump, which is just firm enough for me. I used to sport memory foam, but it was far too soft for my liking. I like a stiff bed.
