But seriously, it doesn't get any bigger than:

And:

At least over the last decade or so.

Or does it?

In terms of popularity and memorability? Meh.

Voldemort is the icon for villains in films of late, and would absolutely make the top-10 list, right along side characters like Darth Vader, Hannibal Lecter and Heath Ledger's Joker. I'd have a hard time buying anyone making the list higher than any of them.

Joker, Vader, and Hannibal for myself.

Joffery from game of Thrones just might be my most hated "villain"

Volde for popularity. He certainly doesn't strike me as an amazing villain. I feel like he's pussified

But question still stands, what do you feel makes him pussified? Just curious.

Not like his "minions" weren't afraid of him or whatever, but most of the time he had other people doing his work. Even in the last movie, it seemed like most of the screen time was on his dark wizards more than they were on him. Not saying he wasn't evil, because most of his people feared him, but I felt like the movies didn't portray him as much of a bad-ass as I thought they were going to when reading the books.
