  1. For sure. Tomorrow is a good test. This was never going to be 16-0, Cup. Adversity is good. This is facing some for the first time these playoffs. Lets see how they respond.
  2. It may be PTSD from last year, which I understand. Until this group proves they can stand up to adversity in the playoffs, those questions are going to exist unfortunately. If they come out swinging tomorrow and deliver a knockout blow to a Hurricanes team that most of the hockey world orgasms over seemingly daily, that would go a long way in silencing the doubters; some of which exist in this fanbase. Need to jump out the way we did in Game 1 and really have them chasing.
  3. Out of Canes practice: I still doubt he plays in this series. Today was his first day on the ice and he was skating with the extras. Obviously something to keep an eye on.
  4. As others have said, this team this season has responded well to games they have played like shit, which wasn’t often (outside of January). Have to hope that one is in the cards again and we end this tomorrow night in their barn.
  5. Oh for sure. It was a disaster. The whole team looked and played afraid. The structure wasn’t there. Guys looked tentative. And they tried to sit on a 1-goal lead against a team you shouldn’t sit on a 1-goal lead against.
  6. Are we sure it’s the injury and not the quality of opponent? Carolina gives you no time, like others have said. And Fox’s greatest asset is using his time wisely to try and make a play. It ain’t working right now. And he needs to make adjustments. Badly.
  7. Paul Maurice was never this….chatty? Is that the right word? Chatty? Dude is pretty unhinged. His pressers are a spectacle nowadays. Like, can’t-miss shit.
  8. The issue with Fox is something I’ve said in prior posts when it comes with speed of the game. What makes him good is his high IQ and the methodical style he plays. But all of these teams in the playoffs are aggressive in nature and more aggressive than usual since the stakes are raised. He doesn’t have the opportunity to make those cute little plays he did in January against teams with bad PK’s or couldn’t defend the neutral zone. He needs to adjust, just like everyone, to the tempo of the playoffs. And you can like it, love it, hate it, whatever, the fact remains that he has had issues with that in the playoffs both this year and in years past. That’s not to say his playoff resume is total shit, or that he isn’t playing hurt right now or anything. He just needs to raise it up here, whether he is banged up or not. He needs to adjust.
  9. Agreed. Though I wouldn’t say it completely breaks their momentum. Two in a row is two in a row, and going home where they’ve been strong. But I think they’re gonna see the Rangers deliver their biggest punch of the series yet on Thursday.
  10. You ain’t wrong. Both points hold equal weight IMO. Personally, I love the extra day off. That helps us way more than it helps them. It gives us an extra day to breathe, to take it all in, to rest and to re-focus on the job at hand. Game 4 was a game played equally. They came out fast. We pushed back hard. In the end, they score late to beat us. That’s a loss you to take on the chin and walk back from. Last night, they ran us out of the building and if not for Igor, that game looks incredibly worse on the scoreboard. The message needs to be sent that it’s unacceptable and that the name guys here need to push back.
  11. The power play has dried up. We were quick and confident with the movement earlier in the series. Carolina being aggressive is hard to deal with but if you make the quick passes you can open up so many avenues and we were. Our issue is our zone entries are fucking terrible. Terrible. They need to win that opening face off or else we’re in shit for 2 minutes because they are not dumping and chasing well (tonight was a mess there) and Carolina stops them at the line and forces turnovers because the puck ends up in the hands of someone you don’t want it to near the blue line (Kreider) and we’re right back to regrouping and restarting a rush. To answer your question, it needs to be one of the big guys. They’ve all been well at points here and played well in this series. But right now, they need to put on their big boy pants and meet the desperation of - very good Hurricanes team not only staring elimination in the face, not only staring at the potential of forcing a 7th game after being down 0-3, but also staring at the likelihood of this being The Last Ride for this group all together. That’s daunting. But they’re not gonna beat them until they match that intensity. Because that tonight? That tonight isn’t going to get it done. Not even close.
  12. No way. Igor has been fine. Igor was amazing through 40. The team fractured in front of him in the last 20. And they sucked the first 40 too. Of all the “marquee” Rangers, Igor was the only one free of blame tonight. Zibanejad, Kreider, Panarin, Fox. All awful tonight in almost every possible way. Kreider is back to being a passenger. Guy just had no second gear tonight whatsoever. Igor will be fine. But it’s going to take the big guys here putting it together for 60 minutes on Thursday if we want to avoid a potential nuclear scenario in MSG.
  13. The Hurricanes are a team that have fumbled the ball for years and are staring at major changes. Don’t think that wasn’t a talk in the locker room going into the 3rd. It’s that cores last kick at the can. If the Rangers don’t up the ante and meet that level of desperation on Thursday, then they’re fooling themselves. Because they need to now have the same mentality because if we lose this series, this core is also looking at something similar.
  14. It was there across the line Games 1-3. Game 4 a slide happened and tonight was just a disaster.
  15. Fox needs to stop being so damn methodical. It won’t work against teams that pressure like this. Want to do it in January against a team that is the 23rd Rank in the NHL against the PP? Ok cool. It won’t work now. And it isn’t. He needs to be decisive.
  16. Zibanejad and Kreider can at least hug and cry in one another’s arms the rest of the night over a missed opportunity. Fucking losers right now. Total no-shows tonight. Kreider has been a joke the last 2 games. Back to lazy.
  17. Zibanejad and Kreider can at least hug and cry in one another’s arms the rest of the night over a missed opportunity. Fucking losers right now. Total no-shows tonight. Kreider has been a joke the last 2 games. Back to lazy.
  18. Pussies. Fucking pussies. All night. This team is gonna get blown the fuck up if the unthinkable happens.
  19. This is a joke. This is literally closed door meeting type of shit. You can’t no-show in the playoffs like this. It’s inexcusable. They have been playing like pussies from puck drop. Absolute scared pussies who don’t want to step up. They went out and met their presence for 3 games and right now they’re terrified. Period. This needs to be fixed or this is going to be a highly disappointing, franchise altering type of series that sees massive change in that locker room. That’s how checked out they look. Just a joke.
  20. Roslovic has actually been pretty good. He isn’t scoring but he’s darting in and out. The top guys have been abysmal ever since Game 4.
  21. This team needs to find their spine. It’s been there all year. Need it now. Because this was a pretty pathetic performance. Just ugly.
  22. They literally just missed like fifty calls on Carolina and call that. The NHL doesn’t want this series ending. It’s clear. This is a joke.
