2019 Off-Season Thread: We Got This Bread, Man
Zuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuc replied to Phil's topic in New York Rangers
Forgot to highlight Tarmo Reunanen. 4th rounder from 2016, had a really good season in Liiga this year. 25 points in 58 games, still only 21 y/old. Sent from my iPhone using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk -
But still, Did we really watch a handicapped Bran getting carried through the entire north for 6 seasons just so he could sit and stare at people coming to winterfell? Arya been through everything she has just to be killed by a white walker? Cleganebowl needs to happen. There's a lot of stories that need a real ending. The Great War will be epic, but there's a lot of other things they need to figure out and the first hour of season 8 was practically nothing. Just some convos and a lot of nothing. Now they have 6-7 hours left, things need to happen.

gdt: 2019 NHL Entry Draft / KAKKO SZN
Zuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuc replied to Phil's topic in New York Rangers
I dont really care. I love kakko and his game, but if we get Hughes we?ll have a nice 1-2 in hughes-zib for many years, and center depth is arguably the most important piece for a cup winning team. That said, I cant see shero passing on hughes. Mostly because the huge hype he?s had for some years now. I?m pretty sure rangers would draft him if they got the #1 pick too, even tho they like to go off the board for a scandinavian guy. Signing Karlsson would be a rangers thing to do. Will regret it in 3-4 years and have a huge contract eating up a lot of the cap when kravtsov, kakko, chytil, howden, lias etc needs new contracts. Sent from my iPhone using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk -

If they trade up I think it will be for edmonton?s 1st. A late 1st (either tampa?s if they win, or jets?) + kreider. Draft kakko and a center with oilers? pick. Sent from my iPhone using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk -

You guys think chytil will be moved back to center now? Already have kakko, kravtsov, buch, kreids. Man I cant wait to see this team in 2-3 years. Sent from my iPhone using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk -

Is it more likely they go for panarin now? Getting a top 2 pick helps the re-build speed up. Kravtsov, zib, chytil, kakko, buch, panarin is a pretty sexy top 6. Sent from my iPhone using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk -

That A+ level tanking will atleast earn them a top 3 pick. -

Wonder what it would take to get Draisaitl. 6 years left on a 8.5m contract just finishing up a 50 goal, 100+ points season. Oilers could seriously get almost a half roster of quality players just by trading 2 players. Will never happen tho. -
Atleast its "risk free". Whatever happens its fine, cause there was no other options. If you pick first and the 2nd pick becomes better, it looks kinda bad. And the fan bases will argue forever (like Matthews/Laine). I would be confident in the Rangers mgmt picking the wrong player, so maybe the 2nd pick actually would be better.

A little of topic, but is Podkolzin a lock for the 3rd pick? I see on his EliteProsepct page that all have him as #3 in the upcoming drafts. He only played 3 KHL games this season and it looks like Kravtsov had a much better year last year than Podkolzin has this year, so why is he ranked so much higher than Kravtsov was? Is the draft much weaker or am I missing something with Podkolzin?

But someone needs to "tell the story", right? Jamie would be interesting, but not sure how he would do it from his current position tho. Maybe he kills Cersei and just takes it? The prophecy has her killed by a little brother. Im so excited I cant wait. Started re-watching the entire show in january and finished it this weekend. I need more noooow.

But a 19 y/old will be incosistent and I just feel like that will lead to too many games in the press box and on the 4th line, which for a short time could be good, but not when that happens for an entire season (see Buch last year, partly Chytil this year). And I dont want him anywhere near that Hartford team the way they are now, so its a kinda tough choice rn.
-
I agree for the most part, but I'm just not so sure that 7-8 minutes on the 4th line with scrubs is the best for his development, because we all know that will happen. Let him play top 6 minutes in KHL and keep focusing on developing his offensive talent. He's still just 19 and I feel this team often rushes their prospects and want them "NHL ready" and solid defensively first, without letting them realising their offensive potential. Too much time on the 4th line and in the press box for young talents is not good. Kinda what Gravesy said about Quinn with the grit before talent thing and Im just afraid that will happen to Kravtsov aswell.

I feel like kreider is a part of the leader group in this team, and we need some experienced players. Kreider can still be a good player for 5-6 years and I hope they re-sign him. A big plus that he speaks russian aswell, we have a few russians coming over next year (shesterkin, kravtsov, panarin). Sent from my iPhone using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
