  1. Time to start rooting for pingpong balls

    https://www.nhl.com/news/nhl-draft-lottery-to-be-held-april-9/c-305753726

    https://www.draftsite.com/nhl/rules/

Even better, a site named 'tankathon' with 'Draft order on this site is based on points-per-game rather than total points.'

    http://www.tankathon.com/nhl

I support any site clever enough to name itself 'tankathon'

and you can click the 'sim lottery' button enough times to give the Rangers the Jack Hughes pick!

First try Rangers dropped down 3 spots to the 10th pick

  2. A little of topic, but is Podkolzin a lock for the 3rd pick? I see on his EliteProsepct page that all have him as #3 in the upcoming drafts.

He only played 3 KHL games this season and it looks like Kravtsov had a much better year last year than Podkolzin has this year, so why is he ranked so much higher than Kravtsov was? Is the draft much weaker or am I missing something with Podkolzin?

  3. So excited yet depressed that it’s coming back/ending.

I can see Jaime on the throne but I also have a suspicion it may be Cersei when it’s all said and done.

I’ll give GRRM credit that I have absolutey no idea which direction this ending will take which is pretty awesome considering it takes a lot for a show/movie to surprise me these days. But I guess that’s why I’ve loved this show/saga since I first picked up a book however many years ago.

The other ending I am thinking we may see is that they all die and then they show a whole new generation of people take over at the end. No one gets out alive is basically a tag line for this show anyway lol

But someone needs to "tell the story", right?

Jamie would be interesting, but not sure how he would do it from his current position tho. Maybe he kills Cersei and just takes it? The prophecy has her killed by a little brother.

Im so excited I cant wait. Started re-watching the entire show in january and finished it this weekend. I need more noooow.

  4. I don't really agree, if he winds up on the 4th line its because his play warrants it and that's the kind of tough love he's not gonna get in the KHL

But a 19 y/old will be incosistent and I just feel like that will lead to too many games in the press box and on the 4th line, which for a short time could be good, but not when that happens for an entire season (see Buch last year, partly Chytil this year).

And I dont want him anywhere near that Hartford team the way they are now, so its a kinda tough choice rn.

  5. The KHL isn't a developmental league. He's got a lot to learn especially about playing away from the puck on an NHL rink things you just can't learn unless you're on an NHL rink. He should just come over, regardless of the role. Isn't he not in the top-six over there anyway?

I agree for the most part, but I'm just not so sure that 7-8 minutes on the 4th line with scrubs is the best for his development, because we all know that will happen.

Let him play top 6 minutes in KHL and keep focusing on developing his offensive talent. He's still just 19 and I feel this team often rushes their prospects and want them "NHL ready" and solid defensively first, without letting them realising their offensive potential. Too much time on the 4th line and in the press box for young talents is not good.

Kinda what Gravesy said about Quinn with the grit before talent thing and Im just afraid that will happen to Kravtsov aswell.

  6. There's ample money to extend Kreider now, I hoped that was the plan all along, no reason not to if the ask is reasonable. It's his team now and there's no other player like him in the league.

I feel like kreider is a part of the leader group in this team, and we need some experienced players. Kreider can still be a good player for 5-6 years and I hope they re-sign him.

A big plus that he speaks russian aswell, we have a few russians coming over next year (shesterkin, kravtsov, panarin).

  7. Darren Dreger

    @DarrenDreger

NYR getting calls on Lemieux pretty much as soon as he was acquired. Likely moves on the Rangers blue line with McQuaid and Claesson expected to go.

I wonder what teams are offering. I have seriously no idea how much he?s worth.

  8. Look at the leagues draft history on http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/draft/index.html

The draft is littered with guys just like this that never play one NHL game. It's not just the Rangers it's just a numbers game. Very, very few actually make it and the later the round the greater the chance is that they don't make it. I'd imagine that we never hear from this guy in the NHL.

well, he was a 5th rounder, so Im obviously not expecting anything. Still nice to see him progressing and playing well in a tough league. Most likely he wont turn into anything (like most 5th rounders), but you never know.

  9. Anyone have any idea about how his contract will be? He's proven himself enough in the KHL to get a solid contract and Oilers didnt do us any favours with that Koskinen contract. If Igor got some good agents they could demand more than what he got, or am I way off?

    Is Igor a RFA?

  10. What is the likelihood that he would be traded? If the KHL works anything like here, Traktor would get anything they could for him on the way out the door. Playing out the string with a competitive playoff team might not be the worst thing - even as opposed to getting his feet wet in Hartford.

A trade would be the best scenario. KHL playoffs > AHL playoffs easily.
