The funny thing is when he was a close to a 30 goal scorer and I said he was capable of more, people like you bitched and moaned about it. Then he scored 50, 40, and you're all on that dick... But I was right all along about him having the ability to put up more goals than he was

And now that he does that consistently you’re still expecting even more.

If Kreider was what you believe he should be he would be the best player in the league and making twice what he does.

I don't know why you're coming at me, oh wait, I do...You're always trying to get me in some "gotcha" moment that doesn't exist.

I doesn't matter what I said about ice time. I'm talking to Laf stans (which I was not) who said the reason he sucked for 3 years was role and no PP time—But a lot of those folks also stan Kreider...So you can't whine about Lafreniere not getting PP time and also be on Krieder's jock...Who was going to take reduced ice time or be taken off the PP for Lafreniere? Wasn't gonna be Panarin.

I'm "coming at you" because the Kreider hate is starting to get ridiculous. 3-4 years ago it was warranted when you complained about his lack of consistency, but now it makes no sense. He's been great for 3 years, yet you take every chance you get to put him down or say some shit about him.

What was even the point about that comment you made? I would think a Laf and Kreider stan actually loves it right now. They're both playing amazing and helps the team every night. I don't see why, especially as a Rangers fan as well, it would be tough to support those two players. What must be tough is being Kreider's biggest hater over the last 3 years. That must've sucked.

Yeah I remember being in the trade Kreider boat given where the team was at, but the train of thought leading up to it was that he was going to get mid-7s on a long term extension. I think pretty much everyone was a bit surprised to see the 6.5 per, and that was before he became one of the best bonafide first line goal scoring wingers in the league. He’s been performing at roughly a $9m pay rate for 3 years now. Incredible.

I wanted him traded because I didn't see them being competitive so fast and I thought Kreider would net a huge return.

I was fine with 6.5m, but didn't like the term.

It must be tough to stand Kreids and Lafreniere, since Kreider is pretty much the main reason Lafreniere hasn't gotten the prime ice time and PP time other #1 picks get.

Can't have it both ways (if anyone is among the "team messed up Lafreniere development" crowd.

I clearly remember you saying numerous times that we don't gift players ice-time, they have to earn it. Guess what - Kreider has earned both the ice-time, the PP time AND the PK time because he's been amazing for three years now.

Lafreniere had his first good season this year, playing with Panarin. He hasn't deserved anything before this season and we're not breaking up a top 3 PP in league to shoehorn in a guy that has 57 points as a career high. And even if they were to do that Kreider would probably be the last option to take out. He's the one with a unique skillset on the PP. Fox. Mika, Panarin and Trocheck pretty much plays the same way.

Given our special teams, I'll play to a modest advantage at 5v5 and take my chances on our PP and PK being the better special teams unit. We'll win that game more often than not, and hey, you only need to be marginally better than .500 to win a cup anyway.

That is all true, but Carolina has great special teams and a hot goalie too. I would give us an edge in both categories, but it’s not huge and most of the games are played at 5v5. Knowing we couldn’t even outchance Caps at 5v5 I do think it can get really ugly at times in the next round.

Shesterkin seems to be at this best when he’s facing a lot of shots tho. Hopefully he has a great series.

This team is different because they don't bleed chances at 5v5 anymore and they get contributions from more than four players.

I don't care if it's too simplistic, sometimes the simplest explanation is the explanation.

Maybe not bleeding chances, but they're not creating them either. 8-7 at 5v5 against this Capitals team is bad.

You used to complain that without Igor standing on his head and the PP being on fire this team would lose. It's the same now, but you're acting like it's a completely different team.

I think you can ask them to do more than be netural against AHL opponents save from a gift goal. That won't cut it against carolina.

Well as Brooks pointed out this team actually struggled at 5v5 this series.

Total scoreline over 5 games were 15-9. 5 on the PP (1 was EN), 2 on the PK. Capitals had 2 PP goals.

So at 5v5 the total scoreline was 8-7. Half of those 5v5 goals came in the first game. So going 1-0 with 67% xG is actually really good in comparison to the rest of the team, which is a scary thought tbh.

  8. Can't really ask for more from a 3rd line.

Will be interesting to see what changes, if any, Lavvy makes for the 2nd round. Carolina are much faster than Caps and there might not be much reason to have Rempe in the lineup. I still want Cuylle - Chyts - Kakko with Wennberg on the 4th line with Vesey and Goodrow, but it's also dumb to mess with what's working.

I'm sure he'll roll the same lineup in game 1, but if they were to lose it will be interesting to see what changes he'll make.

  9. Great North-London Derby today. Congrats with the win! The title race is still on.

It looks like Tottenham might be your last hope tho, City has Wolves (H), Fulham (A), Tottenham (A) and West Ham (H) in their last 4.

Yeah. Real poor experience on mobile last night and this morning. Same as @siddious experience. Just a white screen for me on my phone.
    Computer worked last night.
I’m posting this from my phone.

Corroborate with @Pete as well about slower than usual performance of late as well. And I think I texted @Keirik a few games ago about being unable to access a GDT, but that was a brief outing.

I think the forum went down for a minutes after Rempe’s goal in game 1 lol.

It’s worked fine for me ever since tho, both on mobile and PC.

  11. Vinny Trocheck man. Probably our best player for the first three games. He's everywhere when he's on the ice. Making great plays defensively and offensively, winning almost every draw and every fight to a loose puck. So far he has a 5v5 goal, a PP goal, a SH assist, two more assists and 9 hits while averaging over 22 minutes per game.

Neither of them are a top 10 C in the league, but there's not many center duos I'd take ahead of Zib-Tro. Both so reliable and great all round players.
