Bang Your Head to the Heavy Metal & Rock Thread
Parsley replied to Phil's topic in TV, Music, & Movies
Call it nostalgia if you want but I’m really enjoying the new Staind album. Sure, at times it sounds like I’m listening to Nickelback, but there is some old school Staind with even some Korn-like riffs/growls on certain tracks. Anyway, “easy listening” when in the car with my kids or when I want to close my eyes and want to pretend I’m 20 again. -
I think it's a good experience (good or bad) for men to share. I probably woundn't have done it without friends assuring me it'd be fine. Personally, the older I got the more fear I had of having an "accidental" additional child. Probably a mental thing, but it was really getting to me and this was the best solution.

24 hour update (and last one I'll throw in here unless something changes). No issues. Slept fine overnight, no pain, no need more meds. Just taking it easy today. Back on track for this thread, congrats to the newer dad's here, enjoy those early years, boy do things change once the kids approach and enter double digits in age!!!!!

Ha! Sorry to send this thread off track a bit (I guess my procedure could be put in the Health/Fitness Thread). My advice is dated since my kids are 13 and 11, but we always used Safety 1st gates and never had issues. Pressure mounted on bedroom doors (to keep them out of hallways and heading downstairs when they were tiny) and then wall mounted gates at the top of stairways. I think I remember even using pressure mounted gates at the bottom of steps because they'd crawl and try to climb stairs and we feared them falling backwards in that scenario.

My wife said it was me (snip) or nada. She unfortunately developed migraines from the pill and had to go off it. From there she didn’t want to seek other methods. I said, fine by me. Grab the scissors!

Gonna be interesting. My wife will be like, “what are ya jerkin off too!!!!!”

I gotta restrain a whole week to start for healing. Doctors orders.

I’ll add this in terms of follow up: 2 sperm samples in the months ahead to make sure I’m clean. 1 in 2 months, 1 more 4 weeks after that. They told me to clean my pipes out the next 2 months. 20+ loads before first sample.

Yeah. I was shocked. The consultation was a breeze (had a referral from my wife’s gynecologist) and today was pretty much the same.

Yeah. My goal was to get this done precovid and then shit hit the fan. Then post-COVID hesitation + back logs from lockdown. Oh well. Glad it’s done. I really wasn’t nervous going into it as many of my friends had it done and said it wasn’t bad at all. Just take it easy post-op. a few days. (Lock yourself away from kids and work)

Well, so far I paid just $100 up front in case I backed out. I’ll let ya know what the insurance coverage is once I get final bill. I basically had a 30 minute consolation mid-summer. They asked if I was sure I didn’t want more kids. I said YUP. Signed some paperwork, put down the $100 and then had to wait 3-4 months due to scheduling, etc. Today, went in around 10:30am. 1 Nurse with a bit of prep. and a few questions. 1 Doctor came in, felt around a bit, marked where my tubes were, 2 quick lidocaine injections (felt like faint bee stings). He worked on my junk for about 10 minutes or so while we talked about family, life, etc. and that was it. I just stared up as the ceiling. I was out the door a bit after 11am. Just been laying in bed all afternoon icing every 30-60 minutes. Not too bad as of yet. (Knock on wood).

Got snipped today. Easy procedure. Let’s see how recovery goes.

GDT [RS #4] Rangers vs. Nashville Predators — Return of the Mack [Truck]
Parsley replied to Phil's topic in New York Rangers
Eh, early season hockey sucks. Especially for this team (no excuses) but you don't know what to expect on any given night these first few weeks, it seems. Definitely not a good time to be betting on games. -

Sad but true. I'll never get over that series. What a wasted, magical Cup run. -

He did but Bowden was right in front of the net when the scoring chance occurred. Go figure, an ex-Ranger in front of the net. -

Walker Patrick Kane's Rangers Tenure Seems All but Over
Parsley replied to Phil's topic in New York Rangers
Was worth a shot in my eyes and a sign to fans that the organzation was “trying” to put the best players on the ice (while sacrificing very little) for a deep run. Unfortunately, it simply wasn’t the right formula. -
Congrats!
