All I know is that Drury really fucked up by getting two most offensively inept, soft ass talentless mother fuckers who should've been beaching in Mexico in April, at the trade deadline.  Either he did not believe this team was good enough to win it all and didnt go after the best available RW and C, or he's just a shitty GM who couldnt make a deal.  Either way he missed the boat.  It's great that he kept 29th AO pick in a shitty draft, but i have no confidence in him whats-so-ever.

    30th 😜

  2. IMO if the Rangers were to lock up Shesty it has to be under $10 million.

If not, as @Pete said, you ride it out next season, if they don't look like a contender he can be traded for the proper pieces for another quick re-tool.  If they keep him, sign and trade would be the way to go, maybe to a team like Utah for a Clayton Keller+.

I know Benoit Allaire is stepping back a bit but he seems like he will still be somewhat of a consultant, and the Rangers have never had a problem with goalies in the pipeline the last 20 years, so I'm not at all concerned about post-Shesterkin era.

    The entire defense was hurt

Warrior but hurt in the playoffs again, again, and again.....another notch on why it would be silly to sign him long term, and possibly for the $$$ he may command.

My guess is Igor isn’t interested in a hometown discount that means anything either. At most maybe it’s .25-.5 million per year less. It’ll still be in the 11 range. I hope they don’t pay it. That leaves the options as 1) trade him this summer, or 2) keep him one more year and let him walk UFA.

If I had more confidence in the group of players, I’d possibly favor #2 to go for a Cup, but I don’t. Drury has to do the ballsy thing here. Someone will pay a big price to trade for him and extend him. Someone frustrated enough with their own goalie issues.

Also consider if you just let him walk to free agency, the chances of him going right across the river to NJ is strong. With a trade, you can dictate a little bit where he’s going.

and you would think it would have to be to a Western Conference team so he doesn't bite us in the ass in the ECF down the road.

  5. Who would potentially be on Trouba's No Trade List?

Sharks? Ducks? Flames? Hawks? Utah? Jets? Blue Jackets? Canadiens? Senators? Thats 9, who would potentially be the other 6?

Then out of the remaining teams who do you think would be interested in him, afford him (even if their was some rentention)?  Wings?

There has to be a lot of variables to fall into place for Trouba to be moved, hopefully Drury can find a suitor.

Wennberg couldn’t have been any worse offensively.   Okposo outplayed Roslovic in the ECF, that says it all.  Might’ve been able to survive getting Wennberg for 3C if getting a top 6 RW worked out.

Weren't there Seattle fans basically saying good luck b/c Wennberg would try and pass the puck on a breakaway?

Roslovic has to be the biggest disappointment as a draft day deal the Rangers have made the last 10 years.

I mean, it's true. Plus, like @BrooksBurner said, he and Fox are too small for a top pairing. I admire the hell out of him, but there's a real price problem with him at UFA. These types of players are great when they're ELC or make $2–3 million. Not $5 million.

I'm not saying it's not true.....I got roasted about suggesting this during the playoffs 2 seasons ago, and again last season.

Undeniably. Honestly, I don't re-sign Lindgren. His deal will age like rotten milk.

The way I see it, Fox-Miller is first pairing next year. Schneider is second pair. Find him a partner who can move. @Drew a Penalty mentioned Kylington.

Trouba has to be put down.

Uh-oh.....can't wait to read the responses about this.
