Tochett has won 2 cups as an assistant in the recent past; that holds some weight imo. However other than that, his resume is pretty light and not impressive.

 

Gallant has been much more successful through out his coaching career. Ill say it again, go with Gallant!

If they hire Gallant and are able to grab Lucic at 50% cap hit. I'm liking where this is going. Maybe flip Chytil for a hard nosed face off winning center. Now we have a team with a face and direction.

 

Gallant has to choose Columbus or NY at this point. Hope he picks us.

Id love to see these interviews livestreamed with an American Idol fan vote at the end.

Where is Quenneville these days? Talk about success.....

 

Bring in Toews for the vet leadership.

I love me some Torts, but no. Not the right team for him.

 

I'm not a big Gallant fan. There's got to be a book on him somewhere which is why he's not coaching in the league right now. There are some awful coaches, and if he's sitting on the sidelines I suspect there's a reason. That's just my personal feeling.

 

I do think they need to go with an established veteran name. They don't need another first-time NHL coach.

 

Throw some ideas out. Who do you like?

Colin Blackwell was a real surprise this year. Happy to see him succeed. He plays a big game for a 5'9" guy. Hope he sticks around after the draft.

Tort's style may bring tears to a lot of the current guys on the roster eyes. Would be interesting for sure. Love me some Torts.

I'll start.....his friendship with ADA was burdening his teammates.....or.......he fought Georgiev in the locker room......

I want this to happen in the worst way. This team needs identity and direction. Torts will bring both. Wonder what Kreiders opinion of him is and if that question would be posed to him. Kreider only played a handful of games with him but I wonder what the lasting impression on the team was.

My 2 cents.

 

Anyone else read Quinns body language as a scared battered puppy? You'd think he'd be chirping at Laviolette. Instead he looked like he didn't even want to look in his direction. That sheepish, cowardly, nervous he's going to get the news paper across the nose for shitting on the rug look.

 

It was cool to see the team fight, but sadly I was left wanting more. I wanted face washing and runs at the goalie. Maybe a bit of Wilson's own medicine of popping some players when they are prone and infront of the net. I think I saw that ONCE, may have been Chytil despite Sam saying he didn't have his stick and the player I saw doing the extra knocks during play had his stick....

 

Otherwise they played the whole game looking over their shoulders. Kinda lame hockey effort.

 

This team isn't capable of providing what you wanted to see. I think they responded the best they could with what they had. At the end of the day, Buch cross checked a guy in the face and a good number of them answered the bell to try and show what no one here thought they were capable of. There was still a hockey game to play and im super proud of this bunch for stepping up. Time to move on though.

Sad about JD. Thats bout it. Loved Drury as a player and loved that he was with the organization afterwards. Like this move. Now can Quinn and get on the phone with Columbus to make sure they are firing Torts.

I dont think Quinn is that guy. His message will be to go out and play hockey with decorum and try to win the game. He isnt the type to gain retribution or set an example. He wants to be the "better guy ". Just my read on him.

Wierd timing; why not wait a week or so when the season ends?

 

Regardless, helluva goalie, Congrats on the new post career journey!

Keep the glue going with what is working; sprinkle the kids in where the holes exist in the lineup, including where pending UFA's are taking a spot. I think this team has the talent and future success by the balls. Time to find the chemistry and team identity.

Hate to see the jersey ads; cheapens the pro look imo. Find better ways to sell advertisement.

This is the most CK20 has been held accountable his entire tenure. Relegate him as long as it takes. Why the hell did they give him that payday?
