Rangers Sign Vincent Trocheck to 7-Year/$39.375m Deal; $5.625m AAV
BrooksBurner replied to Phil's topic in New York Rangers
Hate it. What a weird ass signing. I don’t even mind the player, but in no way is this guy worth a 7 year term. I’ll happily eat my words if he’s a big part of a Cup championship. Also, this is incredibly damning of what Drrury thought of Strome. It had nothing to do with length of contract, and everything to do with simply not wanting him back. -

Chytil or Kakko + Nemeth is close to Miller’s salary. That’s how it works. -

Imagine trading DeAngelo over a million or two in order to trade for 37 year old Brent Burns signed to age 40. Zero sense even if it’s at half-retained. -

Trocheck is an underwhelming pick if that’s the case. It’s fine, just underwhelming. Will wholly depend on terms for whether I set the board on fire or support it. -
Totally fair. Mine came with 2 batteries, lasts roughly 20-25 min per battery. But I have 2 more batteries that came with the weed trimmer and leaf blower from the same set, which are still going strong. Though the weed trimmer I’ve abused the shit out of lol might be time to get a new one soon.

Ok guys I was being facetious about “lugging it around” lol. I used a gas push and rider mower for years and know you don’t lug a gas can around as you’re mowing. One small spill of gas on the driveway or leaking down the side of the canister is enough to make shit smelly. Maybe I suck at pouring gas, but now I don’t have to worry about it. The fact you spent less on an electric mower than a gas mower, when quality electric mowers generally cost more upfront, tells me this isn’t exactly an apples to apples comparison. It’s also possible you just got a lemon. I paid $400 for mine 6 years ago. I’ve had to replace one wheel bearing and replace/sharpen blades 2 or 3 times. That’s it. Benefits that are not related to “saving the earth”: No “tune ups”. No spark plugs. No oil. No fuel filters. Etc. Push button start. No pulling on cords. You know what’s annoying? When the mower doesn’t seem to want to start and you’re out there huffing cord pulls after fiddling with things. Easier cleaning underneath. Can just flip it upside down and do whatever you want. Don’t gotta worry about gas leaking out. I can’t imagine anyone buying a gas mower to manage a quarter acre or less anymore, outside of doing specialized stuff (i.e., mowing at a real low height)

Yup. Enjoy making your garage smell like gasoline just to cut a push mower sized lawn.

3 picks sir. You want the top 3?

Don't choose the Malkin one

Electric all the way. I have had the 80v Kobalt battery one from Lowes for 6 years. Been great. You gotta be a sucker to lug around gas and oil for push mowing anymore unless you’re a landscaper or have a side gig taking care of people’s lawns.

They could have signed him for a year -
Stastny just checks too many boxes to have zero interest. Vet C, short term committment, probably discounted in exchange for chance to win, faceoffs, still productive, etc. Drury has to be hiding it. Not saying I expected him to be all in on him or anything, but to have no interest? Nope. Don’t believe that one bit lol
-
Ok, so Stastny moves to the top of the list of who I think Drury targets. He doesn’t leak. Subterfuge.

Mercogliano Rangers Likely to Trade or Buy Out Patrik Nemeth
BrooksBurner replied to Phil's topic in New York Rangers
Colorado just won the Cup with Jack Johnson on their 3rd pair. Tampa won 1 and almost a 2nd with Zach Bogosian. The offseason isn’t over yet either. He may still be dealt. -

Happy with Drury here. It wasn’t a good idea to execute a buyout right now. Work around it. There is not a good enough reason right now to incur dead cap on the team 3 and 4 years from now. -

Kakko is their only RFA Do they have an extension in place with him, and have told him they may need to delay just for the purposes of potentially triggering the 2nd buyout window? -

I think Burns would cost nothing. San Jose would be glad to get out of the rest of that contract. San Jose might actually pay to have him taken. -
I thought there was a waiting period before a player could be traded after signing. Maybe that’s just when matching offer sheets. Kadri 3 yrs x $10M , funneled through Chicago at half cost. Kadri gets way more AAV than he’ll get otherwise. Rangers get Kadri for 3 yrs at 5M. Chicago probably nets Kakko in such a deal.
