Not related, as Sam is telling the folks down at Green Grove Retirement Community.

My nephew was HS hockey teammates with a guy who was the "best around" and has now bounced around low juniors a couple of D1 teams. And my son played with and against players in D2 football that got NFL tryouts and bounced around the various other leagues. It's a really cutthroat thing to get into pro sports. And hard for a kid to put down the dream and start to adult. KR for the Saints, Deonte Harty, played against my son's D2 team. Looked like he had a different gear than anyone else on the field. Scouting report is that he had returned some record number of kicks for TDs. Special teams coach for my son's team is like "We're gonna stop him". Harty returns opening kickoff for TD. Specials team coach then says "Fuck it; We're kickng the ball out of bounds every kickoff".

Laviolette's post game regarding Trouba was basically that coming back from injury, he's going to need some time to re-acclimate to the speed of the game. But perhaps a game or 2 off might not be the worst idea. Scanlin is available and Gustaffson may be ready. There's options.

Bruce Boudreau on NHLN last night compared Laffy to Guy Lafleur, in that Lafleur had 3 relatively solid but unspectacular seasons before exploding . Not entirely sure the comparison holds looking at Lafleur's numbers, but that a respected NHL coach is making it bodes well.
