Young players only develop with opportunities. Dumping a young player onto a fourth line and healthy scratches kill confidence. If you continually overpay with trade deadline rentals and free agent acquisitions you lose room to maneuver under the salary cap and don’t have the roster space for young players to get TOI. Playoff hockey is different than regular season hockey. We will need the boost from other players other than Panarin-Trocheck-Laf line.

We got Roslovic and Wennberg so organization has to decide whether to scratch Cuylle, Rempe, Brodzinski, Goodrow, etc. It is what it is. I hate seeing Rempe in the lineup and getting 6 minutes TOI, if he's in the lineup get him ice time.

NHL has the player assistance program. Too bad Phil can't afford a parallel program for BSBH members.

There's only two good teams in the Metro (Rangers and Canes), so the idea path would be playing the Atlantic division once in the ECF and then the Western Conference, with as much home ice as possible. In the Atlantic are the Bruins, Panthers, Leafs, and Lightning, so only having to play one of those teams is better than two of those teams.
