Given the NMCs, salary cap situation, and injuries, it would take some wizardry from Drury to dramatically improve the team. More likely is if Drury chooses to tinker - so weighing a possible incremental improvement in playoff chances but working to integrate a new player or two onto the right line, learning the system, fitting into the locker room; versus the status quo. Unless Drury is able to dramatically improve the team (which I doubt he could do without sacrificing young players who we don't yet know the ceiling, which I am against, or draft picks, which I am less against) I'm in favor of sitting this trade deadline out. Getting a player like Wennberg probably won't require you to give up much but won't help the team very much either.

Wennberg is too young to be a Rangers trade deadline acquisition, he’s only 29 years old. I think the nicest thing I can say is that they could do worse. He’s a professional hockey player that can center the third line. Good enough if you think we are a piece or two away from a deep playoff run.

Outdoor ice will be good but less predictable than the arena ice both teams are used to, putting a premium on simple hockey plays. It will be harder to complete tic-tac-toe passing. Neither team will score as often on fancy plays. The Islanders are probably better suited to an outdoor game, but the Rangers are on a streak so get the W. LGR!
