What's the highest the pick could be? It's close to middle of the pack, isn't it? 13-15?

Even his last year being past his prime he was still almost a point per game player the year after the lockout. I know that year in general was pretty offense-heavy, but still.

You really can't go wrong with Kreider or Zib. It'll be either one of those two.

I know the Devils aren't a very good team, but it's not like Jack Hughes is lighting the world on fire either. I mean his overall play has looked better. I don't know. Maybe the expectations of both of these guys coming in and racking up the points right away was greatly exaggerated.

During the presser with Gorton and JD they basically said Henrik wanted to have a long talk with them about his future with the team. To be a fly on the wall in that meeting.

I hope so. I also really think this could be his last year in a Rangers uniform. A trade or buyout is totally possible. So, all of those factors you mentioned, plus he can showcase himself to other teams. We could be in for some vintage Henrik.

Yeah, he definitely needs some strength and conditioning work. He's been getting knocked off the puck so easily all year. I'm not going to call him a bust, and I'm glad they have him, but I have been disappointed in him this year. I wasn't expecting a 70 or 80 point rookie season, but just a lot better than what we've been seeing. This year of adjustment plus some workout will hopefully do wonders for his game.

Sometimes I think the whole naming a captain thing is a bit overrated. As long as you have good chemistry and leadership on the team, just leave it alone. Sometimes actually naming one, and putting that 'C" on that jersey can do more harm than good. I think McDonagh was very uncomfortable with it, even going back to naming Brian Leetch the captain, was also a mistake to me.

Kakko looked a lot better after the break. A full offseason of rest is going to do wonders, I think. He's played a lot of hockey this year, plus just playing at the NHL level and learning, taking everything. It's been a hectic year.

The worst thing that happened to the Rangers yesterday wasn't even his fault. lol But yeah, getting a first for Brady was very surprising. I was thinking maybe a second rounder at best. Even if the pick isn't that high, another first rounder in this draft is a good thing.

JD and Gorton mentioned in the press conference that they're most likely going to just move Smith back to defense. That made my blood boil. lol What does he offer? I'd rather have another rookie back there learning the ropes than Brendan Smith. C'mon now.

Quite shocking they got a first round pick out of it, even if it doesn't wind up being a high one. It's still nice to have in this year's draft.

Kreider also creates a lot of goals by planting his ass in front of the opposing goalkeeper. I've seen this team go years without having a player that did that. It was a problem from when Adam Graves was traded up until Kreider made his debut. lol
