If he’s currently medically cleared, and practicing with full contact, he’s likely been symptom free and skating for a while. So it’s a fair shot he’s pretty close

I'm sure his return all hinges on cap space. It'd have been nice to get him acclimated to playing with the team and in its system.

I wonder if he's a serious option or just a story.  Can this player really be inserted into playoff hockey after not playing any hockey for 6 months?

I love the player. I hope he can. I have lots of doubt though.

Making a blind backhand cross ice pass on an extended shift, that led to the Islanders best scoring chance in OT is a hockey play?  No, it’s not, it’s a terrible play, I don’t care who’s making it.  It was stupid and Shesterkin bailed him out like he did the team the entire game.  You say he won it, but you’re wrong again, Shesterkin won it for them, there’s a reason he was the first star.  Go find that white flag gif, you need it.

Shesterkin put the puck in the net twice? Cool.  Fascinating. Go find that on your DVR. Along with Maloney saying Roslovic plays with snarl (hows he playing by the way? Soooo snarly that hes being benched because he plays like a fucking pussy). Neither happened.

Shesterkin certainly played amazing. But Panarin put the last 2 pucks in the net. Won the game. Can't win without putting the puck in the net. I have to explain this?

Making a pass isn't a hockey play now? You're absolutely out there man. Had it worked it's fucking genius. It didn't. It was a failed HOCKEY PLAY.  It can't be argued.  Attempting a pass is a fucking hockey play. But here you are doing it.

Noticed all season, not just here and on myself as well, the minute there's a couple of losses doomposting breaks out, like everyone is just waiting for this to be a mirage and the other shoe to drop and I totally expect a lot of "blow this core up, it sucks" if they don't make the Finals.

They did have a pretty bad stretch  where they lost like 10 of 15 games and their bad habits were shining through. I'll say Zibanejad has been the same player since that skid and has barely recovered. He's in a bad funk. It looked like he may have been shaking that off in this past game. Hopefully it clicks for him.

This team has some warts. Some aspects of the problems from the past (east west) continually show back up in this roster.  It's just fact. It's going to happen. But once the post season starts, that will be inexcusable.  It's a must that they play within the system and listen to their coaches.

If those problems show up and are prominent in the playoffs... if they lose out before the ECF. Yeah. I blow up the core. It will be evident that it's never been a coaching issue.

If they win? I think the coach deserves al lot of the credit. If they win, he becomes a fixture and a mainstay with tons and tons of rope along with a huge amount of pull with decision making on the roster.

The fanbase is gonna fanbase. You'll have Negative Nellys, but you'll also have the people who love everything the team does, even if it's a flaming pile of shit.

I think here, there's a large mix of every type of fan. I feel like a majority are realistic and can curb some excitement, because they are used to disappointment. It's ok to be a fan on a scale. You don't have to constantly be over positive.  The team CAN suck and need change. Nothing wrong with pointing that out. I feel like that's as bad as it gets here. That's not bad at all.

This season was pretty much a carbon copy of two years ago. Let’s hope the luck carries through to the playoffs like it did that year too. Just a little extra luck on top of that and they can win it

I get not being overly confident. But, come on with this luck stuff.

I gotta think you're just trying to get a rise out of some people. Not like that not super uncommon around here.

Do you really not see a difference in this team? I think there's less depth and one less line to depend on than the past teams, and they STILL play better games more often.

The only similarities I see with this team, is their inability to consistently play 60 minutes of solid hockey and how they can look phenomenal half a period then give  by letting teams snap back with a quick goal in a complete defensive collapse.

The goaltending is nowhere near as reliable as it was 2 years ago. The PP isn't as dominant. Panarin is carrying the team Vs  Fox Kreider and Zibanejad. There's certainly less east west style of play. There's more shots being taken compared to 2 years ago. There's a bit more production from the lower lines.

If they dominate the 1st round,  are you going to change your tune? When are you going to be fully on board?

It’s exactly what you were talking about.  You got called out and then you got mad and attacked me and not the point.  Of all the millions of annoying gifs you post, you should look for the one of a white flag waving

For someone who doesn't like a thing I say, you sure pay a lot of attention to what I say.

I got called out? You disagreed with my take on other plays and the wording I described them as. I was talking about questionable decisions with the puck in the Rangers own zone. I went into detail on what I was talking about.

The fact that you can't understand that Panarin was trying to make a play and flubbed it causing a giveaway----  is different than other players making questionable decisions with the puck in their own zone - like curling back into their own zone by the blue line, before clearing the zone, on a long shift. Trapping tired players in the zone for no reason.

One player is taking a risk in making a fucking hockey play. It failed. It happens.  The others are brain farts where the players are doing nothing to attempt to make a play.

Panarin tied the game and won the game. Go on shitting on him and bitching about him trying to make a play. Go on trying to trash me because you can't grasp the difference in these plays in question.

I'll take trying to win the game. You take aimlessly skating around your own blue line in 3 on 3 OT.

Most points in loser point shootout era (since 2005) is significant, but calling it the most points in team history is misleading.

Please take care of business with Ottawa and play Pitts or Wash rather than TB or Elmont.

It certainly is misleading since they have more wins. I was corrected though and it's tied for most points,  yet they took most wins away from the 94 team. spacer.png

    Tied for 2nd most IIRC.

Correct tied for most points in team history. Set record for most wins in team history.  I thought wins would put them over in points as well, since it's the 94 team team they tied in points.

I don't feel like figuring out how they have more wins and same amount of points, considering it's the shootout era vs old school win loss tie era. You'd think with more wins, they'd have more points along with the freebie points from OT losses.

The word questionable has nothing to do with that play.

He made a terrible decision that almost lost the game twice if not for Shesterkin but we should just forget all that because he takes it personal and scored a goal.  How about not making those terrible plays to begin with?

I think it’s comical how I’m so in your head that you attack me and now my parents.  What’s even more comical is that you’re a joke here and clueless about it.

If the word questionable has nothing to do with that play, then why are you commenting about a post I made about questionable decisions with the puck?

    I attacked you. Sure.

I'm a joke between you and another blowhard loud mouth. I'm devastated  You sir have hurt my feelers and attacked my soul.

yea, the one that was a blind backhand cross ice pass that led to the islanders best OT chance was definitely the least of them :classic_rolleyes:

Nothing was questionable on that. You could see what he was trying to do and that he flubbed the puck.

Read what I fucking said. Questionable decisions.

Meaning curling back at your own blue line on 2-3 different occasions  before clearing the zone on a long shift of 3 on 3,  non stop pressure, trapping your team in the zone instead of making a change or getting it to a safer spot to reset.

You know...Questionable decisions. Like the one your parents made in having you.

Yeah I was outside with the kids and had the game on my phone, but missed the goal initially. I caught the replay, and I thought they had a PP or goalie was pulled from listening to the announcers. Sue me!

Season 2 Lawyer GIF by Martin

Gotta defend the team from the "Rangers solely rely on the same formula as the last 3 seasons" police.

Sorry. Felt like thats where you were trying to take it after a big come from behind win with Panarin briefly putting the team on hus back again. Your "meh" attitude towards Panarin doesn't reflect good intent from your statement.

In your defense. Some boxscores had it listed as a PP goal.

The Isles were ringing posts and dominated the 3rd period.

Panarin clutched it on the PP. Igor with several big saves. Special teams and goaltending. The recipe for success for the Rangers.

Game Over No GIF by CBC

    Panarin was even strength.

Anyone else notice that when Panarin fucks up, whether it be a bad penalty or something that hangs his goalie out to dry, he takes it to heart and makes up for it?

After that penalty shot, Panarin was all over the ice and was a difference maker. Take note. He does this a lot. Today his effort resulted in a goal. Guys a team player and eats up all of his own faults by paying it back with his play.
