I agree with you. Doubt it’s every game. It was a “genius” move because it worked. I’m not sure it’s a great strategy every game just because of wear and tear, potential for ot, logging a ton of minutes etc.

Well yes and no, that’s not exactly the truth. We already lost a forward in the series with Goodrow, plus guys that picked up injuries right before the end of the regular season like Bread or Kakko. We aren’t 100% sure who’s carrying what. Gallant does though obviously. It worked last night. I’m not sure it’s a great strategy for every game though, especially when that 7th gets 16 seconds of ice time

I’m not here to bash Gallants decision but it’s also a dangerous one if you aren’t even playing the 7th d at all. If you lose a fwd in that situation while already down one, you also are pretty thin up front and will be double shifting guys a heck of a lot more in an intense do or die game. Luckily, it worked.

It’s amazing we are in this series considering how little our top 6 has done, our goaltending has done, our coaching has done, and just general positioning and gameplay has done. No more bag skates. Hell, no more practices for this series. I feel like this team just needs a heart to heart sit down amongst the players alone. Closed door shit. Just a look in each other’s eyes and see who is with us, who is against us, and who the fuck wants to step up. The kids are carrying is. Why? Because they too young and dumb to give a fuck about going against a legacy. It’s the vets that are too scared to admit it’s our time here.
