  1. Good point, Daniel Jones is probably Tom Brady. Man Giants are set
  2. I was behind the Haskins pick mostly because of Boomer Esiason. He's been going on about this kid for months and months even before he became a serious potential pick for the Giants. He absolutely loves him and says he's perfect for the NFL. So I'm deferring to Boomer on that one, but we'll find out playing the Redskins 2x per year
  3. His deep passes need a long build up and release to generate enough power to hit the target and they tend to hang for a long time He has ability to move to evade pocket pressure, but he doesn’t move often to create windows which led to a high rate of batted balls at scrimmage in college With that arm, when he tried to make NFL-caliber throws outside the hash-mark, he wasn't throwing at the same level as NFL elite level QBs in a tight window and at the same speed He's also got a bit of a thin frame physically and doesn't tend to protect himself, he already had a collarbone injury last season and there is legit injury concern at the NFL level
  4. The only way that's true is if the sum is greater than the parts. He doesn't have any natural elite tools. It's a huge reach to project he's even going to come close to Eli Manning. It's possible, but it's not likely.
  5. Gettleman got duped by the league. Old man "knew for a fact" two other teams wanted Jones, except Broncos confirmed they didn't, and people say Dan Snyder wanted Haskins which they got. Denver did want Lock but they could wait until the next round which they did. That's Gettleman's problem right there, he had plenty of time to wait but instead he lost an elite prospect like Josh Allen. Obviously the 'other' issue is Jones isn't anything special, somebody keep this guy away from the Senior Bowl
  6. I thought we learned our lesson with 7 year deals Brooks clearly hasn't, pretty sure Gorts has
  7. Gettleman is AV and Jones is Tanner Glass
  8. He was ranked as the best draft talent by a lot of outfits, so I think Jets fans will be eventually be happy with him. But even if they were disappointed on the spot, the Giants lol'd so bad it made them realize real fast that missing out on Bosa & Allen wasn't the worst thing in the world
  9. IMO Kyler goes first, Redskins trade for Rosen, then Bosa/Allen/Williams/Oliver go somewhere 2-5 and Giants pick Haskins at 6. I don't see the Jets trading their pick because they won't get enough value back
  10. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=3&v=KGgDYfiWhls
  11. michael kay gave him a whole hour on his show,no commercials
  12. At least our entire team identity isn't poop color, good luck to people living in Cleveland
  13. Craig Carton sentenced to 3.5 years Prison PLUS 3 years Probabtion: https://www.si.com/more-sports/2019/04/05/craig-carton-sentenced-prison-ticket-fraud-ponzi-scheme-wfan That sounds like the right sentence, maybe on the harder side - but the guy was stupid he fought the charges when he could have made a plea deal at the beginning. So 6.5 years total under watch. Probation is NOT freedom, you are held by the balls by the parole officer. You have to comply with rules about where you go and when, alcohol and drug restrictions, and depending on how sadistic he is the PO can call their convict at 3 am if they want to and demand they submit for a drug test immediately. Failure to comply means back in jail
  14. Much better place than the AHL
  15. For sure, KHL is a much higher skill league than the AHL, it would be pointless to send him to the AHL. He needs to come to training camp and prove his chops and if he holds up then Georgy is getting traded for picks
  16. Yeah, lower than I would have feared. Basically what happened is the Jets were the only ones to offer anything close. Other teams were apparently scared off or not have enough cap space to take the risk He may have a bit of rust but the guy is gonna be fresh from the year off
  17. 35M guaranteed, extra 8.5M in incentives total potential contract value = 61M, $15.25 AAV which is rich for a RB but worth it because that would mean he hit his numbers
  18. Manhhatan snow had melted by 10 am, queens all black top in the morning, sidewalks most melted by EOD
  19. When I went to Thailand I guess I should have realized but I was amazed that not only has it never snowed in the entire country, but the temperature has never gone below 50 degrees. Pretty crazy when you come from north america
  20. aka the new Jets head coach of 2020
  21. Love the snow, love the eye-lid freezing shut cold - bring it on. And when I get tired of it, all it takes is 4 weeks of super humid 90's weather in the summer to make me want it back again. One day this planet will have been trashed to scorched earth and people will be begging for any cold they can get!!
  22. Gase could be a very good HC, it's possible he could do really well, but the problem with the hire is that it's a crapshoot. The Jets are GAMBLING with their golden opportunity of a second year franchise quarterback and all the cap space in the world. I wasn't all that excited with McCarthy, BUT, he DID win a Super Bowl and that alone is proof that he is a legitimate NFL head coach that can do the same with the Jets. Hiring Gase is basically the same as another team hiring Bowles, it's another coordinator who got promoted to head coach and failed. The Bills did this with Rex too after he failed with us. In all sports, how many times have we seen a coach crap the bed under pressure playoff situations This is extremely poor decision making on the part of the Jets executives
  23. Best possible outcome is landing Harbaugh but doesn't seem like he's interested in coming back to the NFL at all.
