  1. Legos are the one thing I'm really hoping Owen gets into when he's a little older, just so I can make excuses for buying huge models again like I used to build as a kid.

Now that I'm not a kid and am looking at the current sets as an adult, were they always this expensive? Like some of the prices are beyond unreasonable.

  2. They sent me a standard definition box even though I have an HDTV, but never asked in the first place what kind of TV I have. So it took 2 hours to get them to give me an HD box and get rid of the fees associated with both boxes. She originally offered me $5/month HD DVR which I was gonna take but then she was like oh wait theres actually a $10/month fee to use the $5/month box (priorities!) So I got the damn regular box for $10/month instead. The day they go bankrupt should be a national holiday.
  3. My friend just had a drink in a Buffalo bar with Tim Murray. Said he curses like a sailor and chain smokes, but didnt really talk Sabres. He said the owner of the restaurant came over to the table and asked him about Russ Brandon and Murray apparently made it abundantly clear he does not report to Russ Brandon, the new Sabres president. Which if you know anything about Russ Brandon's less than sterling reputation among Buffalo sports fans that's pretty funny.

I told him to ask him to trade Eichel to the Rangers. He's in a solid state of mind to make that call lol. Thank me later.

  4. Cold really doesn't bother me until you hit extreme lows (10?F or less) and/or wind chill. Mostly the latter. It's always easy to put more layers on to stay warm than it is to do the opposite.

Yeah those extremes are pretty much January and February here. It's been worse every year since I've been here. Had what felt like 2 straight weeks last winter where it didnt get above 15.

Also had some ridiculous fluctuations. January 4: 61 degrees; January 5: 33 degrees; January 6: 19 degrees. Like what the fuck is that shit

  5. Yup. Same as I head right to the shower when I get home. It's not at all uncommon for me to shower twice a day all summer long.

I'm outside for a total of 40 minutes a day and my socks are always soaked through.

I shouldnt complain too much though. If things stay status quo I'll be making the walk in the winter time. Pittsburgh winters are not fun.
