  1. You should put them in gently, if you dunk them the milk goes all over the place!
  2. It's already 3.30PM. I'm just used to thinking between time zones, so I say good morning when talking to Americans.
  3. He died in the harnass, but Belgium is a country in mourning right now. Cycling is that nations religion and he was one of their cardinals.

  5. What was a great day, is disrupted with terrible sports news from Europe. As some of you know, I am huge fan of professional cycling because it involves heroism, risks, adventure, the most beautiful places in the world and... well, I just love it. Today, 26-year old Wouter Weylandt, one of my favorite Belgian riders and a beloved athlete in the pack, crashed heavily during a 50 MPH downhill section in the Italian Alps. He had severe head injury, despite wearing a helmet, and died shortly after in a hospital nearby. This is a tragedy. For his family, as he was about to become a father for the first time, for his fans and for the sport. THIS IS CYCLING, and despite the doping, the issues, and the dangers. We are fans and lovers of the sport through and through. RIP Wouter. You will be missed.
  6. Damn, 2.15AM already... need to catch some sleep. G'night everyone! :)
  7. College is about life skills anyway. Most of my friends with great jobs ended up doing something not even close to what they initially went to college for. Life is an adventure, might as well do what I love right now and see where it takes me. So far, I have zero regrets. None. :)
  8. Which is why I take care of parts of our family business since my fathers death and I see my almost free degree from two world-class universities on two different continents as an amazing extra and wonderful opportunity to do what I love most. So, how's your undergrad comin' together?
  9. Do you still envy me when I tell you I have about 20000 more words to write, spread over 3 different essays, before June 30th? ;)
  10. I love working on a thesis, reading in to multiple sides of the argument and than constructing my own. It's the ultimate EUREKA! moment for a historian, as we usually don't make any actual recent discoveries. We work with what we find and what other write. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately for me, there is hardly any literature on the subject, so I get to construct my own.
  11. Don't ask how, but my beloved local pro soccer team Fortuna Sittard is staying up and the franchise lives to see another season. A season in which I might actually land a voluntary job with them, that would mean a lot to me and offer something to them they don't have yet. I might end up being the "team historian", where I will have an X amount of months to write the new history section of their website and for whoever is interested. Getting to see their archives, talk to famous (ex-)players and such. My dad would've been damn proud of me if he was still around to see it, and the managers I talked to sounded very interested. So, for now, party time. WE ARE STAYING UP! FORTUNA SITTARD!
  12. Or the feared move to a different town? Anyway, bedtime for me. G'night everyone! :)
  13. I hope the Vikings get a new stadium soon. The Metrodome looks like an inflatable toilet, it's the most ugly stadium I have ever seen.
  14. The 2011 Superbowl champions who kicked your teams ass in their own collapsing house maybe? :D I was Minneapolis the day of that game, but $300 for 1 scalper ticket to Vikes vs Packers was too much for me. We went to the Mall of America instead.
  15. I hate yellow-black. That's what our rivals wear. We are bright yellow and natural green.
  16. I always get checked at games here too. :(
  17. Oh, caaamooooooooon. It's not that bad. ;)
  18. I don't consider myself very Dutch at all. Also not in bloodlines, as my father was Italian, but I guess tall, dark blonde, blue eyes is quite Dutch. :D
  19. Thanks. :) Haha, we would be a pretty huge team together. I'm 6'4", 210lbs, LOL.
  20. Good luck Amanda! You can do it. :) And thanks Mike, appreciate it.
  21. Well, I felt the need to say it. There's more to say, but that would've been deleted there anyway and I'm not going to further respond. I've said what I wanted to say and I think I said it within the rules. That's that. :) Anyway, I'm back from Germany! Two days of rollercoasters, thrillrides, waterrides, good beer and tons of food. It was good.
  22. Hey Robin! :D I think I stayed very polite, but I just like to make a point sometimes and stand up for my friends. :) If that's what you were pointing at. :P
  23. More enthusiasm, less arrogant pricks and thugs, the party in the stands is great too and there's a lot more true rivalry and parity.
