  1. Good stuff. Thorough analysis. Makes a lot of sense and is encouraging to hear.
  2. I ask this as this will give us further clues on what types of players we will go after and/or confirm why why have made certain type of moves already .
  3. Yup. That stinks. Back to Danault/ Eichel and possibly trading Strome and maybe Chytil.
  4. Kreider is better utilized when he uses his big body in a more contact heavy game. Gallant probably will utilize this a whole lot more than Quinn did. Kreider is not a consistent enough scorer to just be a skill guy and get away with it.
  5. If Landeskog can play Center full time effectively this could be the best move. All other Center options seem to be either only defense with little offense or are potentially too expensive via trade.
  6. Strome stats were 'inflated' a bit by superior linemates.
  7. For better or worse, they are changing the image of the team folks. When you make this many changes: GM, Pres, Coach....roster re-shaping usually follows too.
  8. Why is he Gallants type of player? Is he tough to play against?
  9. New GMs almost always like to re-mold teams .... https://www.foreverblueshirts.com/rangers-trade-pavel-buchnevich-to-st-louis-blues-likely-more-deals-coming/
  10. Link: -- We lose some offense but he is very tough to play against and one of the better 2 way guys in the league. Just don't trade Strome for a bag of chips like you did Buch please. And don't swing to pendulum too far the other way sacrificing offense for toughness either....
  11. New coach, New GM, Ownership mandate There is going to be a big philosophical shift in the way we play next year. That means some guys that we as fans probably don’t want to go are going to go. Buch may have been moreso because of the glut of forwards and cap implications. But Strome on the block to means they are ready to trade him away too. I am not in love with this because I think the scoring was a beautiful thing with this team and I don't want to bite off our nose to spite our face or swing the pendulum too far the other way. However we don't see the finished personel puzzle just quite yet so no need to panic but I am not getting the warm and fuzzies with Drury just quite yet. How far are they going to take this toughness thing? Are we going to get another legit Center soon? I think they want to add more vet savvy and winning players to the equation and that does make sense because the team is still extremely young.
  12. If Strome goes we won't be that deep here and after Zib its quite dicey.
  13. Could Landeskog play Center if we signed him in FA? Trying to see what our potential pivots would be if we don't go Eichel....
  14. Also awfully young to have so many and expect to high level contend.
  15. Curious, would Landeskog be an upgrade or potentially redundant to what we have?
  16. Lets not overreact to one half decent scorer being traded away. We still have a bunch of potential 20+ goal scorers on this team right now: Panarin Zibenejad Kreider Lafreniere (12 in 56 as a rookie, should easily reach 20+ as a 2nd year in 82) Kaako (entering year 3 with a better coach will likely play on a top 2 line) Kravstov (very talented and has went through some growing last couple years) And Strome is a high assist guy And then some pretty offensively skilled defensemen Our problem is not scoring really. It was getting beat up by the better teams.
  17. Kind of strange timing to name a captain, no? Unless its coming part and parcel with an extension. Hope its an extension.
  18. Do NOT trade Zibenejad. We already shipped out one goal scorer for a questionable return. Zibs and Panarin are our most talented vet scorers on the team. Don't do the overhaul thing to this team Drury! Hate when a new GM wants to put his stamp on a team and overdoes it.
